Well ladywhite, you and my girl sent your packet 3's back to the embassy on the same day...that would be funny if you and her get interviews on the same day! Let's see what happens...

qbertz7:

have you checked the latest update on the web site yet? i'm curious to know if your girl's interview date is on there. mine is not.:angry:

just have to wait for another week. **sigh**

Hey everyone, I have 2 questions.

1. I'm curious how you filled out the immunizations part on DS3025. How on earth is someone from Isan supposed to find non-existent medical records of shots?

2. How long did it take to get your police certificate?

Thank you!

Feyser,

1. You don't fill in the DS3025, the doctor does. When Rin went to BNH, they did all the paperwork and gave her three shots (as Kang Lang indicated, they will give whatever is age appropriate). She had to go back two weeks later for another one.

2. Rin went to the police department on Ploenchit Road and filled in forms. We went back ten days later and picked up the report, so it must vary a little based on other replies.

Good luck!

The embassy called my fiance to confirm her address of where to send the interview appointment letter, but I don't think they had generated an actual date yet cause she asked and the lady didn't know it.

But at least I know they got our pkt 3 and a date is on the way!

qbertz, be sure to check the website around the 2 week mark of when the embassy received your check list. that was when it was posted for us but the letter arrived only 2 weeks before the date. if i had waited for the letter i would not have been able to go with him to the interview.

we should start a pool to see when your date is. i vote week of 10 September. anyway...good luck!

Well Kang Lang, you were wrong! Our date is a full 2 weeks earlier than your prediction (it's ok, my prediction was actually the same week you said)...

Ladywhite...you should have your fiance call the DOS and see if a date has been issued, I called them today and they said our interview date was just reserved today and the appointment letter was sent today as well...here's to hoping you've got the same date or earlier!

Another question for all of you that have been through the process already now...as of now and the past 4 months, I am making well above the 125% poverty level needed to sponsor someone, but for my last 3 years tax returns I did not because I was either in university or working out of the country for 4-6 months at a time, never making a lot.

My fiance will have for the interview:

1-134 notarized

Last 3 pay stubs for my current job

Letter from employer stating current salary, etc.

Last 6 months bank statements

Last 3 years tax transcripts

So my question is will they look at my current income as the most important and see that I have no problem supporting her, or will they look at those last 3 years tax transcripts and think uh oh, maybe he can't support her? Do you think the interviewer could potentially ask for a co-sponsor (even though I in no way need it)?

qbertz,

i brought all of my 2007 paystubs (and they kept them!) so i would bring them all just in case.

NOTARISED employer letter

i-134 notarised as well

they only looked at my 2006 tax return (returned the others untouched)

i would definitely bring the bank statements and a notarised letter from the bank since you have not met the income requirements consistently

actually just to be safe since it is a discretionary process, you might want to have a co-sponsor

GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the reply Kang Lang.

Well all of my income for 2006 was derived in Thailand and I didn't meet the 125% requirement, but I wonder if my fiance explained to them that all of that income was made in Thailand where wages are considerably lower, they would understand?

i definitely wouldn't want to give you wrong advice but if it was me. i would just secure a co-sponsor i did not find the CO understanding whatsoever and would hate to risk a denial.

whatever you decide though and the outcome would you please post it? i bet it will help others in the future.

Ok, so for some reason I thought the 125% level was higher than it is. I just looked at the poverty guidelines and my return for 2006 shows a few thousand above it, so now I'm not going to worry:) How anyone, especially in California, can live on 12k per year is beyond me.

Anyway, I'll for sure let everyone know how it goes, and this is at least one less thing I am going to worry about now.

qbertz,

They will look at your current income and employment as most important and look at your past income and employment to see if it sheds any light on whether or not the current income is sustainable.

As Kang Lang wrote, the consulate in Bangkok looks at only the most recent tax return.

Yodrak
