My girl had her interview July 5th and these were some of the questions they asked her. I was not able to go with her and she went by herself. I have heard from some people it is better to go with your fiancee others tell me it dose not matter. Every case is different.

1) The asked quetsions about how we met and how long ago.

2) They asked her if I have seen her in the last 2 years.

3) The wanted proof of emails and pictures. The more you have the better.

4) Statements from Western Union I have sent her. They wanted original receits not copies.

5) She had tried for a tourist visa last year to come and see me. She did not get the visa (very hard for a Thai girl).

They asked her has she tried for a visa before. She said yes. Many girls get scarred and say no thinking they will get refused

6) They asked her the name of the company I work for and how long I have been thier.

7) They asked her when she was planning to come to the US and when we plan on marry.

They are trying to find out if everything is legit.

I wish I could have gone with her to the interview, but I could not go.

It turns out the embassy in the US lost one form I sent in. When they sent it to Thailand it was missing. She had to fill it out. She was able to find a Thai lady who wrote english and she helped her. This is common. If I was thier I could have filled out the paperwork for her.

I had sent a complete copy off all the paperwork to her of my I-129 packet. She brought it to the interview and was able to copy the information.

Try to be relaxed and everything will be fine. I am sure you will have no problems and get the visa.

135+ pages and growing ...

I'm getting anxious, less than 1 month till interview, and nagging little questions are popping in my head that I hope recently successful Thai K1 petitioners may help me with ......

1. Nid has a 12-year old son who lives with relatives in Ratchaburi. She has already decided that he will remain with them (since he has lived with them all of his life already, and is doing very well in the schools there) and NOT be accompanying her to the US. Do you think she will need to bring him, his passport, his ID, and his birth certificate (translated) to the interview with her (since she already has him listed as her son on the I-129F and DS-230 forms that have already been submitted)? On the last page of the Packet 3 checklist she checked the Alone box, and yet the instructions state she must bring his Birth Certificate even if he is not applying for a visa ???

2. I-134 instructions for supporting evidence (BTW what is the poverty level for 2007, I could only find 2006 figures on the USCIS website) reference supplying a bank statement for proof of assets, but if the official verification of employment letter has my annual income waaayyyy above 125% of 2006 poverty levels, do you think I still need to submit a bank statement? It would cost me $10 to get a letter from my bank stating that my current bank balance is $0 (because right now I have $10 in that bank ), I just don't see how this would help show evidence of support. Do I need to send her recent pay stubs and tax returns (I am not self-employed), or is this verification of employment letter sufficient?

3. The Packet 3 instructions say she needs to bring a certifiied copy of her marriage certificate as well as a divorce certificate, but she does not have a marriage certificate as the amphur office took it back when she got divorced. How does she get a certified copy of this? Can she request to get this back from the amphur office?

I think that the interview should be relatively easy for her (her English is extremely good, and her Thai is outstanding), I am just worried that she will not have all the right documentation with her (she is a great speaker, but not a good "paper" person, seems she really had a difficult time with that Packet 3), and I don't think I can get back to BKK in time for her interview to help her get all these documents straight. It should be interesting.

Need an assist here. If anyone has a SO near Lamduan or Krasang in the ISAAN region, please let me know.

I am getting a wee bit worried about my fiancee and her family. My fiancee took her dad to Cambodia last Friday due to the death of his brother. We figured that we would be out of touch for a few days but it will be a week tomorrow and I am worried. Her mom stayed back and I cannot get in touch with her on her cell. Appreciate any assistance.

They crossed over at Poipet, not the safest place to be, one reason for my concern.

I am worried sick to my stomach, we talk at least twice a day. :help:PLEASE

Thank you for the kind words. I may have someone in Surin who can swing by her village to check on her mom and find out why they have not made it back from Cambodia yet. I hope to here back from him tonight if he can do it.

Thanks to a member here, he'll make himself known if he wishes, and the owner of the Farang Connection in Surin, they will be assisting me in finding out if all is well. The owner of Farang Connection wasn't surprised, he says many of the ladies lose their phones and other farangs have asked him for assistance. Let's hope that is the case, I hope nothing happened when she went to Cambodia.

Keep your fingers crossed folks!!

BTW, I just want to say that the owner of the Farang Connection is an absolute saint!! I have met him before and when I am back there in September, you bet I'm going to buy him all the drinks he can handle!!

What a roller coaster few days........it is almost 4 AM here in California.

Well, good news!!

Martin from the Farang Connection in Surin made it out to my fiancee's village and all is well. Her father came back from Cambodia yesterday and my fiancee is due back today.

I actually got a phone call from her and we talked for almost an hour. Her cell phone was stolen while in Cambodia, no surprise there, I had bought her some high end Nokia when we were living in the Philippines last year and I guess some thief saw it and just had to have it. She bought a new one as soon as she got across the border as well as a new sim card. Good thing she had written down my phone numbers!!

All is good in SqdnGuns world now....too bad I have to go to work in a few hours, I haven't even slept yet. :crying:

Thanks to those who PM'd me and offered assistance, it is greatly appreciated. I am going to be buying Martin as many beers that he can drink while I am in Surin in September!! Those limey's are pretty good people!!

Now to buy my ticket for September

Glad that you were finally able to get a hold of your fiancee. I had a similar problem last year. Believe me, I know how you must have felt.

Does anyone know if a document is needed to indicate if your fiancee is single? Mine has been divorced and we submitted the divorce papers already with our I-129F package. I have read posts on here that you need this document only if your fiancee has never been married. Some say this document was never asked for at the interview.

I spoke with a Thai friend of mine today who came to the US on a K3 visa. She had been divorced and had submitted the divorce papers when she filed her I-130 paperwork. She said when she went to her interview, they told her she needed to submit a document saying she was not married. She said she went to a government office in BKK to obtain this document.

Strange but I thought divorce papers were proof you were not married.

Does anyone have a definitive answer?

Yes,

I've read some where that she might need to go back to her hometown to get a paper stating that she is single.

TIA,

Not sure about getting a stamp via SFO, but you can probably ask the Immigration officer processing you on your arrival. When we arrived in SFO via K-1 back in Jan 2005, I went with my wife through the "visitor's" line and we were processed by a young lady officer ; after taking my wife's photo and obtaining her fingerprint, there was some small talk and I think the lady stamped something (guessing the expiration date of K-1?) on the I-94 card.... then off to customs we went.... I would ask them about it though!

OK, Congrats and welcome to the USA! :)

George
