Kang Lang,

I-129f petitions are not entered into the NVC's automated information system - they don't spend enough time at the NVC, and the NVC doesn't do anything with them except forward them on, so it's not worth the effort to put them into the system.

can anyone recommend someone/agency to help my fiance prepare his packet 3 docs? he does not read english and will need help. i had someone prepare his original docs g-325a etc. but she takes too long to respond and i want to compile this all now so that by the time we receive packet 3 instructions he can just drop it in the mail.

thanks a bunch!

Hey Kang Lang, congratulations!

You and I are only a few days apart, so your news, (I hope) is good news for us both. We are also in a similar position. Well, actually my wife speaks and reads English quite well, but this far along why take any chances?????

So I am using Brian Wright of mythaifiancee.com I have had many e-mails with him and have also spoke with him on the phone a couple times. Smart, considerate and ONLY does US visas. You don't want to find out how important that is. I found out the hard way.

So.....do you think early July is realistic????? I was thinking August...but I like your thinking better.;)

They don't give any sort of notification, Yodrak? It don't sound like Kang Lang got anything. It seems e-mail would be more efficient than having us all call for a status check...right?

ringing them directly was easy peasy, i was only on hold for about 2 minutes the lady was easily able to verify my identity by name, d.o.b. and my fiance's name. it was painless. i highly recommend just ringing them!

well i am trying to be optimistic as i have not seen him since december 2005. my understanding is that it's 8 weeks +/- from consulate receipt to interview so that theoretically is pretty darn close. fortunately there are not a bunch of hols coming up so as long as they are humming right along post songkran festivities i will just keep my fingers crossed (for both of us!)

n2ojones,

I wrote that I-129f petitions are not entered into the automated phone system, in response to Kang Lang's question regarding the automated system. I did not write that there was no notification at all. There is a notification - by post, and by the time the petitioner receives the notice the petition has usually already left the NVC and is on its' way to the consulate.

Kang Lang,

Typically 8 weeks or so from consulate receipt of the visa application from the applicant - not from receipt of the approved petition from the NVC.

thanks for the tip!!! i sent an email, however when i looked at the site i notice they are selling packages etc. sadly i didn't have the faith i could do this on my own so i hired an immigration lawyer to the tune of 3k (but at least it includes all the AOS step no additional fee) i just can't afford to pay another $1k to someone, plus all the extraneous fees, flying there, bringing him back, our wedding too! oh well i will see what they say. let's hope they have sort of an ala carte type doc menu since my bf won't need any guidance/escort just document prep. :star:

Thanks for the clarification on the notification, Yodrak. Apparently you understood my post as a statement instead of the question it was meant to be. As always, thanks for the answer.

Kang Lang...wow, 17 months apart? That's just wrong! But you will never have to wonder if your love is real or not...that's for sure!

As for Brian Wright...yes, he will work with you (ala carte;). Tell him you are in a similar position as "n2ojones" and ask how much he would charge to fine-tooth the details. I too started out with someone else... but then fortunately found Brian.

Congrats again and I wish you well.

Brian Wright is my attorney as well. I interviewed 23 other attorneys before deciding on Brian and oh how glad I did. No one can match Brian's experience. I had the pleasure of meeting him face to face on the Th of April and he is just awesome. I can not see going into something as important as this and not spending the small amount to get the professional help and piece of mind from someone who is right there in Bangkok and has an excellent association with the Embassy.

My hat is off to Brian.

Anyone need info on Brian, reference or anything that I can do for you, don't hesitate to contact me. Ken email at metro33777@yahoo.com and phone at 727-768-5164
