Hey Ken b

The emails to the Embassy are scanned for Key Words by their Email systems when they arrive. Therefore, if they don't key in on certain words, I believe you will get that response...you posted.

The subject line I always use(d) is: Inquiry: Case # BNK2006****** (Beneficiary's name)

I've always received replys using this subject line...with 24 hours usually.

Peace,

MK

Hey guys,

I've finished all of the paperwork for our interview on 30 January. I just have one question about the 'order of documents' that is listed in Packet 4. On that document, it requests copies + originals of the all the documents (birth cert/divorce/marriage/death/adoption/etc...) to be taken to the interview.

Up til now, I've only been sending them copies of these documents. Are they actually going to request to see the originals as well at the time of the interview?

Its not a problem either way...I'm just curious.

Peace to all,

MK

Yes, the originals and the copies are needed to be presented to the consular at Window 5. I recommend you to place the original on top of the copy....you know...like... BC, then the copy of BC...Thai ID, then the copy of it.....

I was told from the other visa webboard (in Thai) to have all documents in order like this....

set 1 (beneficiary’s doc)

1. DS-156

2. DS-156K (unsigned)

3. DS-157

4. Passport + a copy

5. Thai ID + a copy

6. census registration + a copy

7. birth certificate + a copy

8. name change certificate + a copy (if applicable)

9. divorce decree + a copy (if applicable)

10. medical examination

11. receipt of visa fee from post office

set 2 (petition’s doc)

1. I-134

2. the letter of employment

3. bank statement

4. most recent year tax return + W2

5. divorce decree + a copy (if applicable)

set 3 (proof of relationship)

- E- mail , E-Card

- photos

- a copy of plane tickets

- phone bills

- etc.

Good luck on your interview on 30th!!!!!

Hey folks,

I've got another question, this time concerning translations.

We're expecting to return the packet 3 in a few days, and I'm travelling to Bangkok on Thursday. In addition to taking care of the police report and medical exam, I've been intending to have several of my fiancee's documents translated into English, including her ID card, birth certificate, and "house book".

However... the Embassy website, and the instructions sent out with the packet 4 clearly state that only documents not in English OR Thai must be translated. As I understand that, we don't need to have anything translated, since all of our documents are in either English or Thai.

I know that other applicants are having translations done, but...is it neccesary?

Thanks for any info!

small axe,

She will have need for her birth certificate in the USA, so it would be wise to have that translated.

No need to have her ID card or tabian baahn translated into English.

MK,

Photocopies of documents can be submitted with petitions and applications with the understanding that a USCIS or consular officer can ask at any time to see the original so as to verify the photocopy. The visa interview is a convenient time for consular officers to verify documents, so be prepared.

Hi James,

Can you direct me to this visa webboard in Thai that you mentioned?

Also, to all, I'm a little confused about whether I need tax forms for the I-134. It's mentioned by James above, and I've heard it elsewhere, but neither the I-134 itself nor the VJ Affadavit of Support tips mention tax forms. Am I missing something?

Thanks

We are turning in 3 years of tax returns with our I-134, as proof. That seems to be the standard/best way to fill that requirement. We've also turned in a letter of employment (on company letterhead), and a couple months worths of pay stubs.

Peace,

MK

e_b_d,

You do not need income tax returns for the I-134. But you do need income tax returns in addition to the I-134. The consulate in Bangkok requests the 1 most recent return.

Hello, I am trying to get some of this stuff prepared for my Thai girl. Can I use my w2 or do I have to have tax return. If I file for 2006 in the next two weeks can I use that return.

Also, Is it ok for me to fill out the electronic form d156 and just send them to my fiance?

So just 2006 and notorized should do it? I am well above the poverty limits so can I leave off my bank accounts? Maybe just put my primary checking? I just don't want to have to list my 401s and stocks and all that stuff. Thanks.
