Yes.

NOA1 = Notice of Receipt

NAO2 = Notice of approval

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

"Notice of Action" allows it to be used as a multi-purpose form.

Also, the acronym NOR is too close to NOIR (notice of intent to revoke).

 

NOA good,. NOIR bad.  NOR can be confused with NOIR, so also bad.

Actually, the second Notice of Action can be an RFE, but yes, generally the term NOA2 is a notice of approval.  NOA3 and NOA4 are not really terms being used today, as they do not come from USCIS.

 

Crazy Cat's fingers were dyslexic.  LOL  There is not NAO2 etc.

 

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
