Hello, I have an IR1 green card I received roughly a year ago. My husband and sponsor is a US citizen. We're planning on buying a house sometime in the near-ish future, which will be our first change of address since I arrived here with my green card. I'm aware I'll need to file the AR-11 within 10 days of moving. From what I'm reading, though, because my husband completed an Affidavit of Support for me, he'll also have to report his change of address (form I-865). I hadn't heard about this last point before, so I just wanted to make sure someone can confirm I'm understanding it correctly! It's no issue for us to file an I-865 when the time comes, but I don't want to misinterpret and risk muddling things if the form isn't needed. Thanks for reading!

He needs to file I-865 for each of this moves until you are no longer an LPR or until you can be credited with 40 SSA credits.

Note that the latter doesn’t necessarily mean you have to work 40 quarters.  Search ssa.gov for the term LAPR to delve into this.  Also some lawyers believe if you are married 10 years, that because you can then claim a spousal SSA benefit, the sponsor’s obligation to ends.
