Bringing minor nephew to the USA

Hello Friends,

Visa-journey and I have long lasting relationship. I appreciate the support this community provided me when I was going thru my immigration. Now I am back with another task in mind that I would like to request my visa journey family to help me with.  I filed an immigration petition for my brother and his family 5 yers back with the hope to bring them to US after 10 or 12 years. The petition is still in the process as it is going to take long time as expected. I have always been supporting my brother and his children with their education and daily needs because my brother has proved to be someone who does not care for whatever happens to his children. It is not easy for me to cut ties with them and not worry about anything and live happy life with my children in the US. No matter how much I get mad at him or deny to pay for their expenses at  the end of the day I pay them anyways. I was talking to someone at work about this issue and how I am concerned about my family overseas. My coworker friend asked the question " Why do you not bring them here to the US since you are paying for them anyways?" That started me thinking if this is someone possible. I would like to request my visajourny family to offer any help for me to at least bring my 15 years old nephew and 17 years niece to live with my family in the US. Thank you for your time in advance.

F1 Student Visa if you can pay for them to go through College.

Sounds like you will be looking for other solutions.

It is a tough situation. Sadly you supporting them is also contributing to your brother and his wife not helping themselves.

Any chance you can send the the kids to a boarding school? This way you get them a better education and only help them and cut your brother off.

Funny enough, I am very sorry to admit that I already tried that and sent them all to three different Catholic boarding houses  one after another but they somehow found a way to escape and now the mother does not want me to send them to any boarding houses with the fear of losing them if they run away. God will help me.

Oh man that sucks. I guess it's way to keep you sending money to the parents. Possible the parents guilt tripped the kids.

It sucks but you may have to say enough is enough. You cannot help them at this point, you are just enabling them. The kids are old enough to decide on their own if they want to try again, or if they want to be like their parents.  Do not feel bad when they all start crying. They made their bed it's time they sleep in it.

Would you be fully supporting the whole family,  if and when they move to the US?

I hope they (parents)  would work when they are here if ever that happens. At this point I am just keeping faith.

With what you wrote I don't have that same faith. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi,

Based on the answers here, it seems like it is not possible at all which lead me to a question:

Is it possible to adopt the kids and bring them in???

Already answered.

Not a possibility with children having living parents.
