I passed my citizenship interview today. Here is what happened during the interview.

The officer asked for my full time and she went right into the civics test.

1. What does the Constitution do?

2. When was the Constitution written?

3. Who is in charge of the executive branch?

4. What are two major political parties in the United States?

5. Name one right only for United States citizens.

6. What is the highest court in the United States?

The sentence I had to read was: "How many Senators do we have?"
The sentence I had to write was: "We have one hundred (I spelled it out) Senators."

The N-400 questions are primarily about the security questions. Lots of them. The Yes or No questions in that form.

This is a marriage case but surprisingly my officer (who was by the way extremely nice) did ask anything about my spouse. The only thing she asked about us was if we had any proof that we are living together, to which I gave her tax return, copies of my car registration (2), latest bank statement and a letter from my mother in law.

My Oath ceremony is next Wednesday 10/26. Surprisingly, I guess they are trying to pack that date to the fullest and luckily I and many others were given that date.

My USCIS office is in Sacramento California.

Awesome to hear! Our USCIS office is Sacramento as well.

I obviously submitted all of our documentation with the N400 application (joint bank statements, insurance policies, etc.), but since my wife and I moved across the country, do you think it's best to bring new documentation showing the new address as well?

Oath ceremony scheduled today for November 2nd (Dallas), 8 days after interview with my case recommended for approval the same day. Not sure if the folks which got the no decision verdict would be in the same timeline, hopefully yes. Wish everyone here the best of luck and hang in there a bit, we're all getting close to the goal, stay strong people!

The officer asked us for proof that we are living together and we've been staying at the same house since I 485. So I would imagine that it would be best for you to bring documentation to show you are living together at the new address.

Interview was today - it went well and got approved!! Waiting for the oath taking ceremony schedule now. Good luck to everyone!!

On a side note, I asked the IO if a name change back to my maiden name after a divorce would delay the oath taking by a couple of months and she said yes so I didn't proceed with it. I'm not sure if I made a very big mistake or I can use a divorce decree (name change not part of judgement) as a document to change my name back :(

Hmm. I'm wondering the same. I never legally changed my name on anything - SSN, driver's license still have maiden name. But all the notices from USCIS have my married name, because my dumbass wrote my current legal name as FirstName MiddleName MarriedName. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Won't you be able to change it at the interview?
