I got my interview Friday, June 23th, Milwaukee field office, and interview scheduled.
Applied online 2022-03-03 - based on 3 years marriage
Interview scheduled on 2022-05-06
Interview date: 2022-06-24

Oath day: 2022-07-20
I had pending ROC. Last update on that was 2021-04-30 saying biometrics were reused. After that, no update, only other communication was the 24 months extension letter received on 2021-10.

N400 interview letter was just the standard one they send everybody, nothing mentioning the I-751 process.
Not knowing, I prepared for the different possibilities.

The letter said not to bring anyone due to Covid (except interpreters or something like that), but I brought my husband either way (in case of a combo interview), while being aware that he might not be allowed in. At the entrance, after showing my interview letter, I let the guards know that I had a pending Removal of Conditions, reason why I brought my husband in case the officer decided for the combo interview. They allowed him in and said that the officer would decide then.

I checked in, and waited about 15-20 min, when the officer called me. I let the officer know about my husband prior entering, to which the reply was that they would then call him in, if/when we need him.

Turns out it was a combo interview, but no need for the husband. We went over both forms (first I-751, then N400), confirming/updating all the information. For information that needs to be updated (like employment, children...) they just ask you to check and sign (in a tablet) confirming the updated info.

When I uploaded the files when applying for N400, I mistakenly uploaded the wrong Tax documents, only noticing the error the day prior to the interview. So I brought the correct tax transcripts, and the officer scanned them to add those to my process.

My case is fairly easy. We never moved; never stayed out of the country for long; we got one kid after the marriage; no prior marriages or other kids; we got joint bank acct and credit card; all our vehicles have the title with both our names on it; we always filled our tax as "married filing jointly". That might be why the officer didn't ask for the documents/pics/evidence. Nothing I brought was used or asked (aside from my identifying documents: passport, state ID, greencard).

Today (next business day) is when they updated my case status for the N400. No updates for the I-751, and I don't quite care.

My final impression/comments

- Some people go crazy if something has changed in their process; I'm pretty sure some people here in VJ would have had almost a heart attack if they found out a day before the interview that they were missing most of the tax transcripts. At the end, no need to freak out, they update or add any missing document at the interview.

- Even though they just ask for you alone, if you have a pending ROC, bring your spouse along; best to leave at their discretion, giving them the possibility to call your spouse or not.

- They don't always ask for documents or further evidence. Bring them either way, you never know.

- Each officer and case are different, so prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

- Overall, the officer was really nice and straight forward.

- Don't go crazy if they don't update your case status right away.

Your case moved really quick, less than 4 months. Congratulations!

I've been waiting 6 months now..

We had then N400 Interview on Monday at the Hartford CT field office.

We applied for naturalization based on the 3-year marriage rule. We also have a pending I-751 (that we applied for ~18 months ago). We went prepared for a combo interview.

The officer did not take me (the US citizen spouse) back, only my husband. He did not do a combo interview and did not want to see any evidence (updated taxes, original copies of evidence, etc). He asked my husband where he worked, 6 civics questions, made him read a sentence and write a sentence, and the yes/no questions from the N400 form. He told my husband that he passed but because he had a pending 751, he could not approve N400 on the spot. He would have to approve 751 first in the computer before officially approving N400, but told him it would be fine and "felicidades" and that it would be official within the week. We were in the building for a total of 45 minutes.

Today, the N400 status changed to approved and then

The status for 751 still hasn't changed online but our Naturalization was approved. Hoping to go next month for the oath ceremony.

Obviously, I still highly recommend preparing for a combo interview (if you have a pending 751) and brining all the evidence with you just in case. We had a whole stack of documents but he did not look at any. Good luck everyone!

Hey Guys,

Someone in the December 22 filing noticed their timeframe on USCIS website went from 6 months yesterday to 27 days today. That person was also in Atlanta, GA. So I decided lemme go look on mine.  Its supposed to be 8 months but it is now 4 months.  I feel inclined to keep checking that now.  Anybody else notice a huge jump?  I have a friend who hers was supposed to be 11 months and it jumped to 7 months.
