Well, I'm only implying that the supervisor made this decision. Yodrak's references make me think I may be correct.

On this, I'm in agreement with you Rebeccajo. But if I see more RFEs sent to CSC transferees, then I'll start to believe it may be a national directive. I'm hoping little4ele's RFE was due to something specific to his/her case, rather than a general call for a TB Skin test to all CSC transferees.

Time will tell what's truly happening.

At the moment it seems to be a basic lottery as to which centre or district office requires it .

My friend had his interview yesterday but never sent in the TB skin test with AOS. Nonetheless he got it done ready to show the officer but was never even asked for it. That was Baltimore.

Another had her AOS in Atlanta few weeks ago never got the skin test done, but was told at the interview she had to do it before the AOS could be finally approved.

Both had their medicals done bya CS here, like I'm doing....and neither received an RFE whilst the AOS was pending

They said that my AOS package did not include my medical papers and that I needed a tb skin test. I'd had the x-ray done with my K1 medical, and they took it from me at my POE, (JFK).

Just had my skin test read, and I am negative, which in itself is quite weird coz I have had the BCG vaccine, when I was younger.

Anyways, I am not complaining. Less money that I have to fork out for their mistake.

Good luck to you all

From Yodrak's post regarding CDC directives, adjustees who are examined by a CS here should require the skin test, so that's even more weird.

What I am starting to wonder is if there has been some internal memo put out (not a policy memo) regarding TB. Maybe the airport guy did trigger some 'nervousness' on USCIS' part as to whether or not they are examing medical reports closely enough. Is it possible clerks and AO's have been reminded to examine the reports more fully, and some (unfamiliar with the actual rules from the CDC to doctors) are now trigger happy?

Hey..

Confused a little but am I correct in thinking that since I'm going to be having my Mtl interview for my K1 in about 5-6 months, I should just get my TB skin test done now while I'm on Canadian soil?

PS, I'll only be needing these results at the time of AOS, right? (Not for the K1 medical.)

And the reason I should give my doctor in case of more questions is Visa or work?

(I'm sure it won't be a problem... but in case I get one of the *other* doctors at the office)

Many UKers will have been immunised for TB. Surely that should mean that a skin test should not be required? Or am I missing something?! :P

I had been immunised for TB, but that didn't stop them for asking me to have the skin test done

The rules seem to be different in different areas. Backstory: Nadya had her physical at the American Medical Center in Kiev, took the sealed envelope to her interview at the embassy and handed it to them. She eventually received her sealed packet and we delivered to the immigration officer at O'Hare who said the second page of her medical information (the I-693A) was missing and to call the embassy. I did, they said call the hospital. I did, they said we were out of luck. So I had to track down a local USCIS approved civil surgeon and make an appointment for a new physical and immunizations.

The instructions we received from the doctor's office said we must go to the county health department and get TB and STD tests done, and bring the results to the appointment. The doctor took that, did a physical exam, gave chicken pox and tetnus vaccinations and gave us a sealed envelope for her interview on Monday (yep, finally here) and an unsealed copy. The copy contained a copy of the result letter from the county health department and the I-693 and I-693A.

I don't pretend to understand why our experience re: doctor and health department is different than others detailed in this thread, but so it is.

Went to my local CS here in Columbus Nebraska yesterday for my TB skin test and i go back tomorrow for the results. The CS said that if where i was given the TB skin test has a swollen hard bump then i would test positive (false positive) due to having had the BCG as a baby back home. So far, 24 hours later, i dont have a swollen hard bump but i guess that could change in the next 24 hours. The CS did say that because i was given the BCG more than 41 years ago it is more than likely my body no longer carries anti-bodies from the BCG and are no longer present in my blood which would present a 'Normal' (negative) Tb skin Test. Yippeeeeeeee i hope

I'll let you's know tomorrow the final outcome of my skin test :)
