My husband’s 24 months extension letter has a mistake in his last name This is the response we received for the typographical error form we filled. So does that means my hubby has to wait till the GC decision is made by th officer ? When I called USCIS yday they said to talk to customs & border petrol to see if he’ll be allowed to travel with the mistake in his name. They never offered my info pass appointment. Should I call again & ask for it ? Or is it only given once the travel is imminent

I think he needs an I-551 stamp on his passport.

I’d worry less about CBP admitting him and more about the airline boarding him.  And if he is using his I-551 as a way to visit certain countries that waive visas for US LPRs, I’d be even more concerned.

So should I ask for infopass appointment for 1-551 stamp when I call them ? Will the officer ask for any future travel plan documents as booked ticket or itinerary when to give the stamp ?

Yes if he has  plans to travel, get a new job, or get state ID/DL

Wow thankyou so much. It’s so helpful. I called yesterday & they said someone will call me in 30 days for the infopass appointment. Should I just go ahead & sent a request letter or wait for them to call ? How did you get yours fixed after sending the letter ? Did you get stamp or new corrected letter ?
