I applied the SSN card through the EAD form but the green card was approved and received before EAD was processed. So I need to apply in person through a local ssa office?

I called the ssa office and they told us to wait two weeks before scheduling for an appointment? My wife has been in the country for 8 weeks on k-1 visa. I'm not sure why she was told to wait for homeland security to send her information to ssa. I thought this only applies to people who just arrived in the country?

I thought you received the green card…?

When a local office was giving me a hard time I called the main 1-800 number and asked them to call the local office and help me make an appointment. I was given an appointment right away on that call

She passed the AOS interview 2 weeks ago and received a green card but she has been in the country for 8 months. So I don't know what they need from DHS exactly

They probably thought she applied for SSN on I-485 (newer version has that option now). You need to let them know you filed before the new version came out so there’s no need to be waiting for anything. As I said, try calling the main number and asking them to contact the local office.
