Ok so before I get any lectures on how I should have filed earlier blah blah, just wanted to explain that we got married 2 1/2 weeks (the only slot we had) before K1 expires (within 90 days), and also sent off our AOS during this time and before I-94 expires.

so we had sent it priority 2 days via USPS and it’s still saying in-transit and I’m paranoid because it looks like my I-94 will expire during USPS transit.

The post office told me it’ll be there in 2 days 😑😑😑 and I don’t know what to say coz it’s been 6 days and the tracking isn’t giving any further updates.

will USCIS hate me 😭

if I knew reliability was not as reliable, I would have gone for 1 day shipping coz I have troubles sleeping since I learnt it didn’t deliver in 2 days  😔 (hey don’t hate me I’m still new to the US and learning about the postal system here lol).

It will not matter.  Sounds like there would be a negligible period of time between the expiry and receipt of the I485 packet, I promise they won't pursue you for removal proceedings during that 12 hours or whatever.

USCIS only cares that you married within the 90 days. They won’t penalize you if your application is delivered after your I-94 expires. Unless you are stopped by ICE or other law enforcement asking for immigration documents, you don’t really have much to worry about. There was a case here few years ago where K1 AOS applicant was detained by ICE. It’s rare but it happens:

If you want reliability, don’t mail anything with USPS.

I really don’t know what’s taking so long. I called and they said “the weather might be creating delays”. But we both signed the papers before we sent it which was before I-94 expiry. 🥺

With Utah web marriage, my understanding is that slots don’t take 2.5 months to get.

Unrelated, but we had an amazing wedding thank you!, but good for others who want that I suppose! 🤔

Should anyone need info on Utah web marriages, Mike E is your guy! 😎
