My fiancé is in Russia close to Ukraine border and she is not feeling safe, but most airports are closed, I suggest she bring her kids and dog to mexico and we live there, our k visa was submitted on April 26, I suppose we still need wait for another  5 months before she can get the k visa even everything goes well. I have a question, it’s not easy to move the whole family to mexico in such war situations, can we ask NVC to do the interview in mexico?  I can only work within America, so I need cross the border every day to work in America side, we lived like this for 4 months in mexico last year

Usually, you need a valid legal residency or citizenship in order to interview in another country, tourist status doesn’t really qualify under that. Are you planning on getting a residency in Mexico?

You can certainly ask NVC but they will want to see proof of residency in order to change your interviewing consulate, especially because Russians were assigned an interviewing consulate in Warsaw.

It would be a very circuitous route, trick especially with a dog.

And I think they can only stay 180 days assuming they can get a visa.

Before we get onto everything else.

The government is not for the people but for the rich, they don’t even offer an option for middle class people, if they need staff, hire more, if they need money, ask for higher fees and should make everything online and electronic, they can make other cases wait, they can’t make “love” to wait so long? Not sure if all American fiancé United to make a law action against USCIS.

What kind of "law action" would you like to take against USCIS?

You complained that the process favors the rich and not middle class people, but are okay with USCIS asking for higher fees.  Okay.  That makes zero sense.

Have you considered immigrating to Russia?  Line to get in is probably pretty short.

So you guys like to wait, then just wait, we lived together for 4 months in Mexico last year and I spent two weeks for Christmas and new year in Moscow, we planed to meet for another two weeks in Moscow or Istanbul In March but there comes the war,  airports are closed, we filed the application in April, I suppose it will take another 5 months to finish everything if everything goes smoothly, so I plan to live together in Mexico during this time, the only thing I need cross the border to work in America side everyday, the waiting line is very long, I am applying for global entry card but that will also take 2-6 months, all government related pains

just curious

why when u lived with her so long ,  u didn't marry and go the CR1 route?

and we applied July 2009 and waited till 2015 for visa approval

this "war" has hurt so many  and all have my deepest sympathy

to open a can of worms

but i fear more is to come and what to do if Poland starts to refuse to interview from other countries?  it could happen

We waited 11 months already for K visa and you mean we get married and go the CR1 route? How long that route will take?

your K1 will probably be approved in a month or two. Then you'll have to get an interview spot in Poland for your partner.

CR1 will take 1.5 to 2 years. And you'll also have to deal with securing an interview somewhere other than Moscow. I would stay on this course as you might be nearing the end.

My Russian fiance and I currently live in Mexico and have for over a year now.  We managed to get residency and requested interview in Guadalajara.  They say that granting an interview is still up to the embassy/consulates discretion.  We are hopeful.
