Reaching out to see if there is anyway to expedite a document check.

There is literally one document of mine that needs to be check for us to proceed on to the next stages. It was submitted Dec 24th or last year. The NVC is check docs submitted Nov 24th.

if there isn’t I assume I have to wait till they cycle through to Dec documents?

Send in an expedite request. Give a valid reason for why you need to jump the line.

Thanks for this and the email.

Will they ask for anything to validate your reason?

I believe Japan isn't a super busy consulate so you might get lucky and they'll grant the expedite request without evidence.

I am only seeing requests for evidence due to medical reasons and people include supporting evidence.

If you have a valid reason for expedite you should have documentation to back it up.

You can also try to call NVC and see if they're willing to DQ you now because the proof of income from Japan isn't necessary as you're using a joint sponsor and that income won't continue after you leave Japan.

Understood,

What do you mean by DQ?

Also, would it be worth the wait on the phone to call them and tell them this? I mean they are almost don’t with November docs. Based on documents submitted (i.e. joint sponsor) would validate my Japanese income stream is ending once I leave.

it’s just frustrating cause it’s this one document holding us back from the next and last steps (health check and then interview)

Would the fact that I am missing out on good job opportunities back stateside validate me to expídete? Basically stating that the jobs I am missing out on provide more that substantial income for us to be stable immediately once arriving back in the U.S.?

You're allowed to move back to the States at any time.

Quite a few people move back to the US before the foreign spouse even those going through DCF

You could state the reason is financial hardship because it is difficult to maintain two households in two different countries. I'm not sure if that reason will work.

But, I would first try calling NVC when they open and explain your situation. Hopefully someone will decide to look at your case and push you through.

ETA: DQ is documentarily qualified.

It means all your documents are correct and NVC will send your case to the consulate when they request it.

Then you'll receive the interview letter allowing you to schedule the medical.

Well I know I can go to the states, but can my wife come in with me without disrupting anything?

Based on your explanation about it seems like, yes.

I will give the NVC a call and explain this and see what they will do. In the case they approve my reason then we can enter the United States.

I don’t want to go ahead of my wife. I want all of us to enter together.

No.

Your wife may visit you in the states, but she cannot move.  NVC expedite just gets them to review your documents sooner.  Your wife still has to attend the interview at the embassy/consulate and has to be approved by them.
