Hi everyone,

If you are studying at a college or working in the US before getting your green card on a K1 visa after marrying a US citizen, will you not be able to get a green card?

just asking for a friend. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure what you're really asking.

K-1s cannot work without an EAD.  Don't do it.

Some schools allow you to study as soon as you arrive on the K1.

You need to contact the colleges you're interested in to find out what documentation you need to study there.

You are not allowed to work without EAD or GC.

Don't do it.

Some schools let K-1s study with or without an I-485 receipt. Some do not.  It is lawful for her to study either way.

Work is not lawful without an EAD.
