I saw one recently that was approved after 8 months. Normally I say a year.

I already got my visa interview and they give me 1 year to drop i-601 waiver. I'm getting worried now. They said it'll only take 6 months

How can I see the successful waiver timeline here in VJ?

Who is they, not sure how anybody can be specific as to how long it takes.

You can look for posts from others who have recently gone through the waiver process.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Probably the IO at the interview.

The last ones I remember mostly were around the 1 year mark.

I have a question tho and maybe somebody can explain and I hope OP doesn't mind 😊 Why does it take so long for waiver to get looked at? Is it simply the amount of waivers and only two people in the world working on them ( exaggerated I know 😉 ). Like is it just the workload or what else needs to be done to get it done?

They would not know they do not process waivers

So what's gonna happen if the waiver take more than a year?

There is.no answer to that all we can comment on is how long they have been taking

You stay in contact with the embassy and your case will stay active. When the waiver gets approved the embassy might request a new medical and police certificate and will issue the visa after it even if it takes five years.
