I-130a Part 3 Information about your employment outside the United States

I was filling I-130a, Part 3 concerning employment history for my overseas spouse.  She has been employed for over 7 years at her current employer and as a result, the "Date To" field doesn't allow for CURRENT.  Should I leave it blank or put in today's date?  The prior question in Part 2 of employment inside and outside of the United States did have CURRENT option in Date to field.  Thanks for your help.

Today's date.  Some of the online forms have bugs.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you so much.

You could explain it if you feel like you're giving false information with putting today's date. You're not the only one doing it that way but to me that always feels wrong 😂

In reality, today's date is also an accurate answer, as she could lose or quit her job tomorrow.  It's not a problem, but (in my opinion) it IS a bug in the form as older forms allow entering the word Present.

I think "today's date" is the best possible answer in light of the online form's limitations...... just my opinion.

Oh yea it's for sure better than leaving it blank. I'm just saying even tho it's the better option it still feels wrong to me and I would probably explain it 😊

Technically there is no difference. When the IO looks at the form 8 months down the road, "current", "to date", "present", "actual date when the form is signed" - they all mean the employment was till the day the form was signed. "Present or current or to date" doesn't mean the employment is still ongoing till the day when the form is looked at months or years later in some categories. It could be a bug or it could just be the new style in new forms.

Absolutely.  This question is asked and should be answered in the present tense at the time of signing/filing, not in the future tense.
