I received my filing receipt yesterday and we are excited to be "in the system". Filing package was sent to TSC. Receipt number begins with IOE. Is there any way to tell which service center will process the file?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thanks, is that based on where it was sent?

No.....I reread your post.  You did not send your filing package to TSC.  You sent the package to the Dallas lockbox.  From there, it will be assigned to a service center.  Usually, the service center is stated at the bottom of the I-797 NOA1.

Service centers are assigned based on USCIS workload, not the location from where the package was sent.   You could ask EMMA on the USCIS site.

You're right. It was sent to Dallas Lockbox. It does say Texas Service Center t the bottom left of the NOA1, but I figured that was just because the package was sent to Dallas. Are all applications sent to Dallas Lockbox and then assigned a Service Center? I see that Texas is the slowest center as far as processing times, so I just wonder how it is possible to get to one of the faster centers. Thanks for your help.

Check at the bottom left side of the page. The address is the Service center.

Be WARNED generally the service center you're assigned at first will change.

A lot of us assigned IOE have a SC of Nebraska but it changes after a month or two.

Are you sent a separate letter with the notification of the new service center when it changes, or how do you find out?

I chatted to a live person on the USCIS website (ask Emma).

Unfortunately you won't really know what will with your case for another month or so. My suggestion is to relax and in 3 months reach out to ask where it's at.

Plan for a year at USCIS but be happy if you get your NOA2 sooner.

No letter ..updated online on your case status.. its all out of your hands anyway .. the service center info is just that .. info for you. any dealings you have will be with  USCIS as an agency, not with the SC

yes, planning for the same timeframe, just didn't know if there was a way to check on service center as there seems to be a pretty substantial processing time difference between centers.

I feel like most timeframes are between 5-12 months across all SCs (Nebraska being the outlier at 3 months sometimes).

But, as Texas is one of the slower centers they might decide to process a few cases sooner to make their numbers look better.

Nebraska was traditionally a slower center a few years back so the speed of the centers is always in flux.

Hoping you get your NOA2 sooner rather than later. We're at Vermont so looking at an 8 month wait.
