Could we still keep the fiance visa process and get married again in America once I receive the visa ?

No. K1 is automatically void the minute you get married. K1 is for UNMARRIED couples only.

Also you cannot “get married again”. You only get married once

if we start the fiance visa now (I live in Italy and my fiance in the US), is it possible to change / cancel and apply for the cr1 spouse visa in case we decide to get married in Italy instead of the US in the middle of the process?

CR1 would be your only option since the fiancé application is game over once you get married.

It doesn’t sound like you have submitted an I129F yet.  If not, consider the spousal visa route (CR1), it is a far superior visa to the K1.

Apart from that, no, if you submit an I129F, then get married, you can no longer pursue the K1 route and are out at least the application fee and will now have to start over.

Nope.   If you want to get married in Italy, the K-1 is not the right visa.

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.

K-1
    More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.
A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire

CR-1
    Less expensive than K-1
    No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.

Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

No, either marry then file or file, wait, and get married after approval and US entry.

K1 status ends when you marry.

No.

Once you get marry in Italy, the applicant can not get a fiancee visa because the person is married. You would have to start over with a petition for spousal visa.

U realize that the USC has to fill out tax returns as married after (married joint or seperate doesn't matter but if married they mus file as married and that would mess up a K1 interview

and why if you want to marry , why not the spouse visa?

K1 is no longer the fast process it used to be

some embassies are even making spouse interviews a  priority
