Confusion on Police Certificates

Hello! So quick question for those who had their interview in Warsaw after coming from Russia/Belarus, is all you brought with you the police certificate and not any other court/prison records (providing you don't have a history)? The Belarus website directs to Warsaw but it's a bit unclear to me if all you need is the certificate and if that applies universally to all countries.

 

And apart from the medical (which can be done in Warsaw now) and the basic passport/pictures/affidavits, was there anything else you needed to bring from Belarus/Russia specifically?

If a birth certificate exists or is available, original is required for all regardless of country of birth.

Thank you kindly! As it will need to be translated (original language not Polish or English), am I correct in understanding we would need to find a certified translator? That is, we could bring the original certificate to Poland and have it translated somewhere there? Thanks again

You can translate it to English in any notary agency in Belarus (and get it notarized). That would be easier than trying to find a certified translator in Poland who can translate from Belarussian.

I don't mean to steal the thread, unsure if it counts as being on topic....... but it do have a question about police certificates... My step daughter just, as in the last hour, finally got out of Ukraine, and into Poland. We are unsure how long they will be there for, but how will she get around getting her police certificates if she stays in Poland till she has her visa interview? Our petition got approved on February 16th, and according to the USCIS website it stated that they sent her case to NVC on Feb 19th. When we got to this point in my husband's petition, we started getting his police certificates.... is it possible they might be waived due to the crisis? Yes she is over 16, and turning 17 in May.

I-130 CR1 Timeline  Visa has been issued!!!!!! = ^.^= YAY!

NOA2: June 28th 2018, new website. Old website: July 17th sent to DOS (finally appeared July 29th, after 206 days after petition sent and stating not found) Emails & texts: nothing. Hard Copy states NoA2 is June 27, 2018.

Nov 30th They sent us an email for a physical copy.

Dec 3rd Submitted. Dec 4th They received.

Dec 7th, 14th,18th, 19th, 20th case was touched.

Dec 21st ready for Pick up. Dec 23rd pick up passport with no visa.  Was told due to holidays they resent passport incase Husband needed it, and to return it back on Jan 9th.

Jan 15th, sent off passport back to Embassy, Jan 16th case updated and received passport. 
Jan 24th case touched. Feb 1st sent email asking if they needed anything from us, replied Feb 5th stating still going thru AP, no change on website. Feb 13th, case was touched. March 5th sent email (not by travel docs) asking what we are waiting on, received auto email, unsure if case touched was touch per auto email.
March 5th, 7th case was touched. Also UStraveldocs passport states "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted"

March 15 Sent message via ustraveldocs about what's going on etc etc.
March 19: reply from Embassy Stating we have been approved and should get visa in 1-2 business days! 

March 20th: Issued!!!!! ViH: March 21st.
POE: Aiming for April 26th.

ROC (LA, CA Area): sent  April: 12th 2021, Case transferred June 17th. Bios Jan 4th 2022. Ready for schedule interview Jan 5th 2022. Interview scheduled on Jan 11th 2022 for Feb 18th 2022. Approved at interview. Green card sent Feb 23rd 2022. Green Card in hand Feb 28th 2022. 
Next N-400: Submitted May 27th 2023, bios being reused. 

IR-2 (Step daughter, Ukraine): Sent June 7th, 2021 via online. Case was actively being looked at since Nov 2nd 2021. Approval Feb 16. Case sent to NVC Feb 19th 2022. Interview Dec 17, VIH 18th, POE Dec 26th 2022.

I am in the exact same boat as you. I applied for the k1 visa and my fiancé will need the police report but he went to the police place to ask for the certificate and they said that they cannot provide it because of the war. I’m not sure why but they didn’t give him the report. Will this be a problem for the interview?

Police certificates may be obtained at Ukraine’s consulates abroad (including in Warsaw) once the Information Ministry is back online. That, however, will not happen until the way ends. I’ve theorized before that Frankfurt (your new embassy) will likely NOT give out visas without the police certificate, but this is something that the State Department will have to grapple with. They’re very aware that it’s impossible for Ukrainians to procure PCs at this moment. My advice is to just get to safety and figure it out later.

 

And thank you for the previous advice posted here. We luckily were able to get our PC last week and have it translated already.
