Dear forum members,

I like to introduce myself so at least you all know who are posting under ZZZLPR.

I am in an early stage of the process of having the Filipina that stole my heart leaving with me in the US.

I still need to overcome most of the barriers and any help is always welcome, So here I am.

I am sure you will find interesting my condition. I am an US citizen, but I am originally from a 3rd world country. I moved to US about 16 years ago.

I was married to an American woman that I met in my country. We got married there and had no plans to move here

We had successful careers and plans to raise our family there. All was well until the safety situation became out of control, so we decided to move to US.

In certain ways I had to go through the same process a married foreigner to an US citizen has to do when emmigrating to US. The Visa, forms, medical exams, the whole nine yards.

Somehow at the time didn't look as stringent as it looks today, but I am from a place where bureaucracy is everywhere, so the visa process seemed to be quite simple.

I visited the Philippines for the first time this past May and have to admit that most of the time I felt quite comfortable, as if I was in my native country, even some costumes , for my amazement, were similar. This makes me feel quite confident that I am in the right direction. I expect that the cultural barrier will be a lot less challenging than to most Westerners enduring the same situation.

Also, I had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the world and this also helps me understand differences in cultures. I know for a fact that "some jokes do not travel well".

I am looking forward to learn with this forum and although my experience is very limited in this process feel free to ask any question you like.

05/13/2009 - Arrived in US

06/01/2009 - Applied for SSN

06/02/2009 - Pending Immunizations done

06/05/2009 - Received SSN

06/22/2009 - Got Married "downtown" style

06/27/2009 - Requested sealed envelop with immunization form from Civil Dr.

07/03/2009 - Received sealed envelop from Dr.

07/14/2009 - Mailed the AOS

07/16/2009 - AOS arrived USCIS

07/20/2009 - AOS NOA1 Issued

08/21/2009 - Biometrics at local USCIS Office

09/10/2009 - Received EAD cards

11/17/2009 - AOS interview. Given a favorable decision.

11/27/2009 - Received the GC

10/07/2011 - Mailed the ROC

10/11/2011 - Arrived at VSC

10/18/2011 - ROC NOA Received (contains the 1 year extension)

11/14/2011 - Received ROC Biometrics Appointment Notification

Heres hoping your journey is quick, smooth and problem free!!!!!

Aug. 2001 - met online playing trivia

May 2006 - engaged

06-12-06 - Met with lawyer, filed for a K-1 visa

07-17-06 - NOA1

10-31-06 - Touched

01-29-07 - Found out from USCIS that my lawyer had filed at the wrong service center and nothing has been processed.

02-08-07 - Found out that our petition had been closed back in Oct. 2006. No one was ever notified of this from USCIS

02-09-07 - Began gathering paperwork once again to start all over. Started cancelling our wedding plans

02-20-07 - Filed for a K-1 visa once again

02-27-07 - NOA1

04-21-07 - Originally planned wedding date (had to cancel) :(

05-22-07 - Touched

06-01-07 - Granted a Congressional Inquiry!

06-15-07 - NVC received our approved I-129F petition (I never received an NOA2 via email or snail mail). We are just so HAPPY to finally move on!

06-25-07 - Packet 3 received (but it was rec'd by our lawyer, she has forwarded it on to my fiance in Australia)

06-28-07 - Fiance rec'd Packet 3

06-30-07 - Finally rec'd NOA2 via snail mail. It is dated June 25, same day as Packet 3 was rec'd.

07-05-07 - Mailed back form letter DSL-1076 (Applicant's Statement of Readiness to be Interviewed).

07-05-07 - Just waiting now in hopes of an interview date before APEC

07-13-07 - Received Packet 4

07-30-07 - Interview!!!! - APPROVED!

09-01-07 - Fiance arrives in the USA!

10-06-07 - Getting Married

10/01/2010: Application was sent.

10/04/2010: Application was received.

10/06/2010: Email received "Application has been received" & Noticed Date.

10/07/2010: "Touch"

10/08/2010: "Touch" & Check was Cashed

10/09/2010: NOA1 Received via mail.

10/22/2010: Status Changed Online "Request for evidence" It was for Biometrics.

10/25/2010: Request for evidence recieved "Biometrics Notice".

11/18/2010: Biometrics date ==> 11:00AM. Biometrics was taken On time.

12/03/2010: "Yellow Letter" Received.

12/06/2010: "Touch" Case Moved to "Testing and Interview".

12/08/2010: Interview Letter received via mail.
