Submit additional docs while waiting on RFE?

So my spouse and I submitted all docs on Oct 30, 2021 and NVC reviewed us on Feb 2. All docs were accepted but one. We uploaded the requested document (police cert) the same day, but they have not reviewed it yet. My concern is this - if we end up waiting 90 days all over again,  it will be around the end of April when 2021 tax filings should be available. Will we get a new RFE for new tax docs by that time, even though all of our financial docs are already accepted?

IMO, it is unlikely that NVC would request 2021 tax documents once financials were accepted.  However, the Consulate Officer can (and they sometimes do) ask for the latest tax transcript/return after the IRS deadline for filing..

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I hope that's the case. Having it for the consulate wouldn't be a problem.

Hi,

We received an RFE Feb 2 for a police certificate. We submitted it the same day. It was the only document requested.
But I was wondering if we should upload my 2021 W2 that I just received, along with a few other docs as “additional documents “ while we are waiting for approval? Or should we just wait to bring to interview?

Were all of the other documents approved?

Yes, all other docs approved.

I think if they required you to upload 2021 W2 they would have included that in the RFE. But since they only asked for the Police Certificate thats all that missing. Do you mind me asking why you didn't upload the Police Certificate the first time around? Was it not on the list of civil documents to upload?

My husband left the country a year after the old police certificate was issued and he didn’t return. We uploaded a letter to NVC letting them know he moved from the country and per their guidelines a new one isn’t required if he left after it was issued.
however, they did not accept that. And thankfully, my husband was able to travel to the country to get a new one while we were waiting to be reviewed, just in case.

and for the W2, it wasn’t issued yet when they reviewed our case so they couldn’t have requested it at that time.

I keep going back and forth on this issue:

I want to upload my 2021 W2 and taxes now that they’re available, but my re-submission date is Feb 2 and I don’t want to be set back.

Background:

first submission - Oct 30, 2021

first review- Feb 2, 2022, received RFE for police certificate. All other documents accepted, including financial documents

responded to RFE - Feb 2, 2022

Some days I feel confident that we won’t get another RFE for 2021 taxes, especially since we will be reviewed soon -just a day or so after the tax deadline

But some days I’m nervous and anxious about not submitting them. I’m so unsettled about it all.

I wish someone who was very recently DQ’d without submitting 2021 taxes could weigh in and let me know their thoughts.

Or someone who was recently DQ and also added theirs (after an RFE).l to weigh in please. We went ahead and uploaded to additional docs. The wait and uncertainty is unbearable.

What was your re-submission date again?
