We are waiting for NVC to schedule an appointment in Abu Dhabi Embassy. We both live together in UAE. NVC approved all are documents in the start of Jan'22 (13th Jan to be precise). Just wanted to understand how much time does NVC take to schedule an appointment for IR/CR1 visa (spouse visa). What are the normal timelines and is UAE embassy also facing backlog issues and timelines can stretch to 6 months before getting an interview date. We have been in this process for more than 2 years now, looking forward it to be approved and completed. Any advise especially from people who have applied from UAE. Also any suggestions for the interview as we both live in UAE and will move together to USA (she is here for the past three years and can prove domicile to an extent)

I am in similar situation, my wife lives in emirates and I'm in the us. We have been Documentary approved since October 2021, and still waiting. It's just a waiting game and unfortunately no one will tell you anything timeline wise from embassy side. I even tried to expedite it for financial reasons, since it's expensive for me to travel, but got denied.

I would definitely check out the group mentioned above in the comment.

Hey,

I have the same situation as you. May I know the group you mentioned in your post.

Hi, I'm also DQ on Jan 13 :)

Unfortunately this part of the process is super opaque. From what I've gathered from forums and groups, the wait time should be roughly 6 months from DQ (This is if the applicant is a UAE resident) Incredibly frustrating not to have any indications, but it's the home stretch, hopefully we all get the interview soon!
