I wonder if anyone knows this. Since this round of document review passed over the 4-18-2022 (tax return due date), do we need to add the new tax return of 2021 or W-2 of 2021? I had a request of file from NVC on 2-18-2022. So I had been waiting for 3 months again for the document review. I do not want another round of waiting. Thanks!

Since you uploaded way before tax day, you will be fine as long as all your documents are correct and forms are filled out correctly

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

Hey, did you have to wait another round of almost 90 days? Or was your RFE review faster?

No, we waited for another almost 90 days. But now it’s like 78 days.

My husband was RFE'd twice; the first time since our joint-sponsor was self-employed and we failed to add the tax forms required in that situation. Three months later we were RFE'ed again since I have been living abroad for 10 years; while everything was accepted, they wanted additional proof of my domicile. It seems like an officer checks a submission until they find something missing or decide more evidence is needed, then they send it back, which really prolongs the process.

What did you initially upload for proof of domicile?

You're the second person I've heard who has had the domicile RFE

I'm hoping we uploaded enough evidence as the husband has also lived overseas for several years.

İnitially I sent a past flight receipt, tax returns, US financial account information with my US address, an (almost expired!) driver's license, and a letter from my father explaining that we would be living in their apartment.

After this was rejected, we called NVC, and the woman said the things we sent in looked good, but that usually people send in rental/work contracts or school enrollment information.

I really had nothing else to send in except my (also almost expired) state teaching license. Then I mentally prepared to move back to the States alone to get settled if domicile didn't pass again... But my prayers were answered, and the next official had grace on us and accepted my proof of domicile!

I think the longer you're overseas, the more evidence they want, and, if it's accepted or not, depends on what kind of day the official is having. :)

Good luck!

Oh nooooo! similar stories. Buddy sent in finances, DL and letter from parent and received an RFE

Seems like some reviewers are a little more strict than others. Hopefully they like what we uploaded.

Congratulations! I got an RFE for police certificates in Feb. We resubmitted in March. Everything was accepted but the police certificate. We are hoping to get reviewed again at the end of this month beginning of next. I have been debating whether I should upload my 2021 taxes but it looks like adding it might not be a problem. Did you put your 2021 tax return, W-2 etc all in one doc or did you separate them?
