I don't remember how the fees things goes. They only fee the we paid for are when applied and submitted to the NVC. It has been almost 2 years since we paid that. The only thing we remember we have to pay for is medical. Is there another payment at the interview?

Ah, sorry, I think I confused the non-immigrant fee with the immigrant one. I personally never went via the NVC (I did DCF) so I'm not sure how the fee for NVC works.

Poland says they have everything there and my wife was able to get the online account switched from Russia to Poland. We are told we can not change the date until after we miss the interview.

That makes sense, so basically you just have to be a no show at the interview and then you'll be able to reschedule.

You pay the NVC the fees first before they even process anything. After that gets done you submit document. The only thing after that is medical fees.

When my wife had her k-1 interview in 2014 I thought we was able to schedule directly. I know we did not have to miss a date in order the change it.

2014 was eons ago, the whole world and situation post-Covid is in shambles. I wouldn't be surprized if things have changed a lot since then. In any case, I would email them and let them know in advance that he will miss the interview. Ask for specific instructions on what to do about it, I hope you get a response.

Not impossible for Russians to get a Schengen visa, plenty of people have done that here. Greece, for example, does not require visitors to be vaxxed. So, get a Greek Schengen visa and then enter via Greece and then go to Poland from there. Once you're inside the Schengen zone, they won't check for vaccines beyond your original port of entry.

The medical in Poland offers the vaccine from what I've seen here. You can try to contact them for more info on that. If she's not vaxxed yet, probably makes sense to do the medical in Poland.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/WRW-Warsaw.html#medical_exam_instructions

That's not completely true. You have vaccination checks between countries in Europe. Unless she drives from Greece to Poland.

I took a flight Germany Poland Germany, and at arrival in Poland they've checked vaccination records. If I wasn't vaccinated I would have to go to quarantine.

It's a moot point now anyway because OP won't be able to make the interview in time. Getting the interview rescheduled could take months, who knows what the world and it's Covid rules will look like by then.

I told them but we still have to wait until the 2nd to change it.

My wife was talking to someone a few days ago who just missed it. The website showed interview within 2 weeks.

I had to just look flight prices if we left in 3 week flights be cheap. Still who know what is going on over there.

Well she has time to get that done but for her son it wont matter. I think sputnik still does not count.

Poland's government website says

Then travelers returning to Poland – 7 days and if test negative free go do what ever. Then it say

if you had covid and recovered with in 6 month no quarantine it required. Greece said same thing. I can not remember if it was Poland's or Greece but I remember reading if you are there less then 24 hours no need vax or quarantine on the old requirements.

Requirements could change by the time we get there.

We did not have to quarantine or show proof of vaccination when entering Poland yesterday. Our route was Moscow-Budapest (took PCR and results ready within 24 hrs)-Warsaw. They checked the PCR results in Poland.

Been busy and lazy finally getting back to responding to this.

So we missed the date and had to wait 24 hours before we could reschedule. Checked no dates then next days the was on date for late March. We had to verify something first then the date was gone. 4 days later there was bunch of dates for May and June. We pick mid June but then my wife changed it to late June. Kids still have school up to late June. He will be graduating but his testing take place most of June.

No we are trying to solve the schengen visa. We are think my wife get here here in the US and then her sons in Russia. The only problem is how is he going to prove anything. He is traveling with his mom but she wont be there when he goes in to get it. Since he is a minor would need consent from both parents unless he is traveling with one of them. Like I said he is going with his mom but wont be there applying at the same time and in different locations. There is also financial records but he is under 18 living with a parent he does not have any of this.

Unfortunately my wife can not go to any country until mid June and he sons testing ending mid June. Takes 15 days to get the visa so they would not have enough time to get them before the interview if they did it all in Russia.

Any suggestions?

So thought I give a update. My wife has being trying to figure out all the logistics and visa stuff to get from U.S to Russia, Russia to Poland, Poland back to U.S. After my wife was working with a company in Russia to get the visas they found out ooo you live in the U.S you need to get your visa in the U.S. Then you come to Russia and then we can sort out your sons visa. Since he is a minor or traveling alone still needs all the itinerary flight, hotel, plans, and financial information that only my wife has and must be present to authorize travel. Also most all the stuff is in English here and the embassies in Russia would not know what they are looking at. Once she has it then her sons is a lot easier to get.

After finding that out we tried seeking out embassies for Greece in the U.S. Until just recently you could not schedule an appointment online only by email. Call and email they don't answer. Now that they have online booking all 6-7 Greece embassies in the U.S all booked up till late June. I checked a few other countries and it was the same. Some do not even have online scheduling and make it extremely difficult to even find out how. Also a lot of the embassies are open from 9-10am to 2-3am. If you do get them on the phone they provide no answers. We found a company in Los Angeles that does this stuff and said they can get it done fast but you have to live in CA and we live in IA wont do it.

So just looking at the time line this is not working out. First available interview date in U.S say June 20th add 15 days to get the visa that makes it July 5 if not later. Add a few days to travel to Russia and get there say the 11th. 15 day min for my stepson visa is July 26. Then we got to add another week or two to get in to Poland so after August.

When was the interview date for Warsaw? June 29th and medical in Moscow early to mid June.

Stepson has to be out of Russia by mid August or he goes to the militarily.

We are just lost and angry at all of this. Let alone going to go broke.
