Best way to get to Warsaw, got 11 days.

My wife just checked her email and they finally scheduled my stepsons visa interview. We had it changed from Moscow to Warsaw back in October and since have hear nothing.

Wife cheeked email last night and nothing. Checked it again this morning and now we got 11 days.

We are scared about moving the date as who knows how long it will take again.

Anyways now we are trying to figure out how to do this.

My wife will be coming from the US and meeting her stepson some where along the way. Either in Russia, connecting country, or Poland. My stepson will be coming from Russian to Poland.

After everything is done my wife will be returning to the US. My step son will go back to Russia to finish school for the year more then likely.

Stepson will need to get medical done.

The bigger problem is neither of them are vaxed. How are they suppose to get around that and the quarantines.

Also how they are to get visas to even go there? My wife keeps telling me it impossible for Russians to get them.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not impossible for Russians to get a Schengen visa, plenty of people have done that here. Greece, for example, does not require visitors to be vaxxed. So, get a Greek Schengen visa and then enter via Greece and then go to Poland from there. Once you're inside the Schengen zone, they won't check for vaccines beyond your original port of entry.

 

The medical in Poland offers the vaccine from what I've seen here. You can try to contact them for more info on that. If she's not vaxxed yet, probably makes sense to do the medical in Poland.

Also, looks like there will be some changes coming 2/28 - loosening of requirements?

Well she want to be there less then 7 days. In and out as fast as possible .

I thought you had to have proof of tourism? Dates when you come in and leave and not just wondering around yourself.

You are exempt from quarantine if you have a negative antigen or PCR test and meet one of the following conditions:

1. You have recovered from SARS-CoV-2 (you are the so-called convalescent):

• no later than 6 months before the date of crossing the border of the Republic of Poland,
• you have a document confirming that you have recovered from the disease, issued in Polish or English, including the EU COVID Certificate.

 

Well my wife had Covid early December and my stepson had it in January. How do they prove recovery? We have the test results from being positive but nothing from begin negative after we got better.

I’d bring the positive test result from when she /and son were positive and negative PCR/antigen whatever test they want for entry. That should be proof enough.

Now how about getting the visas on such short notice?

My wife seems to think she has to go to Greece or Poland embassy in DC or Moscow.

We do not know how that works.

No way, there are tons of visa centers all over Russia who process Schengen visas. Have her contact them and see if they can do expedited processing.

Any in the US? We live in Iowa.

So far we are still trying to figure out everything. Being they sent in on Friday morning nothing be open till tomorrow Sunday night here/day there.

I would say my wife would not be able to leave until Wednesday/Thursday here making her arrive Thursday or Friday out east.

About the US, I don't know as I have no experience with getting Schengen visas inside the US. You might have to go through a local consulate or embassy.

 

The timetable sounds extremely tight, I don't know if she can secure a Schengen visa inside the US before then. You might have to postpone the date if she can't get a Schengen visa before there.

My wife is telling that you need to have airline or train tickets before they will issue the visa?

I know it tight but the just dropped it said 11 days. We tried the website to reschedule and that was confusing and never did get anywhere with it. We are also worried it make just push it out way longer again. Dont know if they even tell you when the new date will be like they use to.

If we had to wait 15 days it would have to be in the US. She simply can not wait around in Russia for 15 day.

The way I see it they got to give people at least 3 weeks but they are giving people 2-3. This makes it hard to get your entry and exit times for a visa.

It depends on each country. You should look at each Schengen country's embassy site and see what the requirements for a visa are. It will vary a lot as some are stricter than others. Also each country will have embassies/consulates in different US cities, you should think about which country she plans to enter (maybe directly into Poland?) and see what it says on the embassy website.

Yes direct to Poland would be preferred but like you stated they can be strict compared to others. All I get from my wife is Poland does not like to give the visa to Russians.

I thought was the reason for going to other country first. That and Coivd.
