hi everyone, my i751 was sent june 2020(20 months ago). then i sent n400 in january 2021(12 months ago)

I see that almost everyone's case gets transferred after they file n400 but i didn't get any notifications after biometrics. (for both applications) nothing online or in mail.

i'm worried that uscis didn't update my status or lost my case.

does my case have to be transferred in order to be approved? i'm sorry i could ask this in other topics but i'm just worried about this.

i751 - potomac

n400 - florida

thank you.

When your N-400 interview happens bring your spies and I-751 extension letter and the evidence you submitted for I-751.  You might get a combo interview

I don’t know how common it is for a file to get transferred and it being noted, and I can only offer my own experience.  My ROC was also processed at the Potomac service center, and when I applied for naturalization, there was not a single change on my ROC status.  About 8 months after filing for naturalization (and almost 20 months after applying for ROC), my status changed to “new card being produced” one day and that was that; I actually got a 10 year greencard for the 2-3 or so months it took for N400 to get approved.

In our case, the ROC interview was waived, most likely because we had an AOS interview with USCIS, and apparently, our evidence was convincing enough.  Also, there was no issue with my file making it to the local field office - it was there in all its glory when I walked in for my citizenship interview, despite the fact that I never got an update about a transfer.

I hope you’ll get good news soon as well - preferably a notice that your N400 interview was scheduled and it ending up being a combo.  Best of luck!
