I am not 100% certain I understand your question. Our I-130 was approved, yet our K-3 has not yet been approved. If the K-3 is approved soon, we may use it. If the I-130 gets to the embassy before the K-3, then the embassy cancels K-3. If I didnt answer the question correctly, you might clarify the question and I or others could try to answer.

If the K visa is disapproved, it doesnt mean that the I-130 will go down the drain. It may depend on the reason for the disapproval. I have read of a case in Manila Embassy where the K visa application was disapproved because the petitoner fell short of the Affid of Support requirement. The consul told the beneficiary during the interview to wait for the I-130 they filed and by that time make sure to have the AOS above the required cut-off limits.
