Chicken Pox Vaccine

Hi,

 

Does anyone know if we are required to have the chicken pox vaccine?

 

As I can't see a price on the Visa Medical website.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

It is waived for most in the UK because varicella is not a routine immunisation given to children. Anybody who tells them at the medical they had chickenpox as a child  is marked “Varicella History” on their immunisation sheet and thus considered immune. There is no documentation required. I just said “my mum says I had chickenpox when I was 3 years old”. Also immigrant visa applicants can be given the waiver for “not readily available” because it isn’t a common thing on hand in the UK. So you have two ways to get out of the jab.

Yep - same as Wuozopo - I was just asked if I’d ever had chicken pox. According to my Mum I had it twice as a child and that was enough for the Medical folk. I had my medical in December 2021 so recent.
