Do I have to upload additional documentation (Updated W2, tax transcript, Letter from employer etc.) into CEAC if that information was not available at the time of my DQ?

It depends on the interviewing consulate.  For example, at the US embassy in Manila, while I was waiting for my turn at the consul officer's window, I saw other immigrant visa applicants who were not allowed to proceed with the interview until they uploaded scans of their updated financial and/or civil documents into CEAC.  I uploaded my updated documents the day before my interview.

How do I upload it - is the process the same or do I need to email someone to unlock CEAC?

You may upload new or updated documents under the "Additional AOS Supporting Documentation" and/or "Optional Documents" sections in CEAC.  Those sections remain available on CEAC long after case DQ.
