First most recent tax filed is as it says, most recent.

If 2020 is the last filed, then you send 2020.

After April 18th then 2021 should be the most recent.

For instance, if you filed for an extension, then you will have to stated that because the deadline for 2021 has passed and again send 2020 because that is the most recent

second what needs to be submitted is "your tax return and supporting documents (w2s, 1099, schedules)" OR "tax transcript". Not both.

Once you file your taxes, your have the basic requirement.

Once it is processed by the IRS, you will be able to obtain the transcript.

The transcript is preferred. One format from the IRS, I guess.

I read on uscis page on Reddit that since 2021 taxes are due in April . Filing you affidavit of support right now you only need to provide 2020 2019 2018 tax transcript since 2021 is not due yet. Is that right??

we just submitted our AOS package a week ago. we provided 2020 tax transcript, because we havent filed 2021 yet. and its ok. unless you sent the application after 4/18/22 then u will need 2021 tax transcript.
