hey guys

i recived my green card today 10 years but i found theres some mistakes they put my last name is my first and my first is my last name what do i have to do now ?have this happens to any one here?

Seka, Hachemi's name was spelled wrong on his green card. We made an infopass appointment and took, his green card with the error, his birth certificate, his passport, and a copy of the original I 485 to show that we spelled it right on the original form. The lady told us to send the card back with a filled out I 90 form. We sent the I 90 on 06/09/2007 and not received a corrected green yet.

"Replacing a Card That Was Issued With Incorrect Data on Account of a USCIS Error. If you are submitting your application because of this situation, you should do the following:

Prepare a Form I-90 application. On the first page of the form, under Part 2., Application type., Number 2, Reason for application, check box "d"that reads: "My card was issued with incorrect information because of a USCIS administrative error." Include any documents with your application that support your claim.

When completed, mail your application to the USCIS service center or NBC that processed your previously filed Form I-485, I-751 or I-90 application.

There will be no charge to correct the error. She also stamped his passport with a I 551 stamp, that will show he is a cond. permanent residence. He can use the stamp to get a job or travel until the corrected green card gets here. It has an expiration date of 6 months. We were lucky that we had a really nice immigration officer. Just be aware that you may not get the same results as us, it is up to the individual officer.

Good luck,

Meriem

Just to check, the standard green card has the last name first, followed by the first name, separated by a comma. They got these the wrong way around?

You know, I just looked at Hachemi's card and it does show last name first, comma, then first name. Didnt even notice that at first.

So, if your green card arrives with some information wrong or missing and you have to send it back, are you still considered permanent resident? If so, what proof do you have of your status? I see that some people managed to get their passports stamped, but what about those who weren't so lucky?
