Ok I take it back. I surely don’t want to sound dramatic.
What  do you mean your tax return was “approved” in 5 days.  I’m not familiar with that.  We’ve never gotten an approval notice from the IRS. Do you mean your refund was approved?

And you already have a 2021 transcript in hand?

Yes sorry, the refund. I have the IRS app where you can follow up on it from received, approved to money send. And yes, money in the bank and transcript in the folder.

I guess like every year it depends a lot on how you file and how complicated it is. We didn't had anything special this year and filed online.

Hiring more people doesn't equate to immediate changes, unfortunately.  It often takes about 6mo to get a person trained and up to speed on basic tasks.  After that, it's time and learning to gain experience. But you also have to take an experienced person away from their tasks to provide training and support to the new person(s).  Chicken and egg problem, unfortunately!

Understandable that it takes time to get people up to scratch, however, they have to start somewhere otherwise it's only going to be a matter of time before current employees brcome stressed under pressure; who's to say they won't quit? They surely have trainers who are designed to train rather than work alongside the current employees?

My point is if there's no action taken then the backlog will be never ending.

This is not to say I don't appreciate their effort because I do, I can only imagine how much pressure they're under.

The point is tax transcripts aren’t available as soon as you file. So it’s not likely you can get a transcript, full stop.

The alternate is all that pages in your tax return (not just the Form 1040) PLUS the W2 wage statement for the year of the tax return. That’s all you need. An employer stating his current salary would be a backup. You don’t need more than that for London. Easy Peasy. You don’t need to stress.

Yeah, I'll just ask her for this information and hope for the best at the interview.

It's just so stressful because we've waited for so long (like everyone else) and at this point all I want to do is be with the person I love. Patience is a virtue!

Will the embassy send me a pack of what I need to bring on the day of the interview?

I've already ordered my police records, waiting on medical records now. You don't happen to know the curreng wait times for an interview for the London Embassy once NVC assign case number?

It hasn’t been a “packet” for maybe 10 years now. They will send you a letter after they receive your file from NVC and tell you to get started. Not sure of what the most recent letter says, but they used to say get your instructions from their website. Here’s London K1  https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

But that current website list is kinda messed up. I would start with #2, because #1 Register with the courier happens when you book the interview. You schedule the interview and courier together online at the same time. And you don’t have to wait on their letter. Once NVC notifies you the file has been sent, check CEAC for a status of “Ready”  and start that list. It may take the embassy weeks to send out your letter saying to get started. You don’t need the letter for any purpose.

That’s great to get all your documents ready now. Be sure and get your shots before the medical. Saves a big hassle and $$$ once in the US.
Sorry I don’t keep up with timelines anymore. You pick your own date from an online calendar so it’s more dependent on how soon you get your ducks in a row to be ready to pick a date. The time is somewhat controlled by your readiness.
