Just a quick question. I have my fiancé’s current W2, would that be enough for the London Embassy for our K1 visa

Also, she moved house so her current W2 is her previous address, would that pose a problem?

Thank you :)

No. You’ll need an I-134 Affidavit of Support plus proof of income.

Probably not.

Hey thank you for replying!

Everywhere I look everyone suggests loads of proof of income. Would it be sufficient to attach the W2 + tax transcript, 2 months pay stubs to the I-134

I hear London isn’t strict?

Thank you once again :)

changing address is not a big thing as it has her name and SS #

Thank you :) All of this is stressful as it is, just want to make sure we have everything so there's no more delays!

Your question seemed to be that you only planned to take a  W2 with no form 1-134 mentioned.

K1s in London have had their I-134 approved with just one proof of income—

An employer letter or a W2 or a tax transcript or a tax return with W2.  They don’t even require a tax return if you have other proof, but that’s an easy one to provide if it shows sufficient income.

Of the things you listed, I would pick the most recent tax transcript. You don’t need to prove income five different ways in London.

Haha I have no idea why I left out the part about the I-134 form.

She's filing taxes in about 2 weeks so she will hopefully obtain her tax transcript then also :)

Thank you very much :)

No, IRS  has already announced that they are still behind in 2020 taxes and 2021 will be slow and long to process

only way to get a IRS 2021 tax transcript is after IRS has processed the return

she can file and maybe be one of the lucky ones to get hers done and she can check the IRS site to know the process times of her actual return

Oh man so maybe W2, employer letter and pay stubs just in case!

I wish they would hire more people to take on tasks like these, it's so upsetting :(

its not just "not enough people"

they were not allowed to work from home during most of 2020

and when they were working , they were busy sending stimulus checks

and many were sick

we must be understanding of all these offices that went thru Hell during covid

and yes  the 1040 and W2 and any other 1099 will suffice

Oh no I meant hire more people now so they can try and catch up. I can totally understand and sympathise during 2020 as the entire world just shut down.

Hiring more people doesn't equate to immediate changes, unfortunately.  It often takes about 6mo to get a person trained and up to speed on basic tasks.  After that, it's time and learning to gain experience. But you also have to take an experienced person away from their tasks to provide training and support to the new person(s).  Chicken and egg problem, unfortunately!

The point is tax transcripts aren’t available as soon as you file. So it’s not likely you can get a transcript, full stop.

The alternate is all that pages in your tax return (not just the Form 1040) PLUS the W2 wage statement for the year of the tax return. That’s all you need. An employer stating his current salary would be a backup. You don’t need more than that for London. Easy Peasy. You don’t need to stress.

Just throwing in here that our federal tax return was approved five days after filing so saying no chance she's gonna have her transcript anytime soon is a bit dramatic 😉

Ok I take it back. I surely don’t want to sound dramatic.
What  do you mean your tax return was “approved” in 5 days.  I’m not familiar with that.  We’ve never gotten an approval notice from the IRS. Do you mean your refund was approved?

And you already have a 2021 transcript in hand?
