New Interviews Scheduled! To be VIDEOTAPED!?!?!

Okay,

Here's a re-cap...

My husband and stepsons received an interview letter shortly after filing. Shortly after receiving the initial interview letter, they received cancellation letters. We all showed up for the originally scheduled interview (based on feedback from VJers). It really was cancelled! The officer asked my husband when is best for us to come back. He explained that the kids would be at their mother's house in Canada until the 3rd week of August. She told us she would ensure our interview would be scheduled for the last week of August. Perfect! NOT!

Fast forward to today. Letter received for my husband and ONE son scheduling the interview for AUGUST 9th, 2007 9:30am and the interview is to be videotaped!!!

Our problem...

- The boys wont be home until August 18th.

- I have to go to court on AUGUST 9th, 2007 for child support issues (My ex owes over $10,000 in past due support) and I'm required to be in court at 9:00am!!!

- We only have an interview letter for ONE of our sons!

- THE LETTER SAID THE INTERVIEW WILL BE VIDEOTAPED!!! :whistle::(:unsure::o

My husband has made an INFOPASS appointment (earliest was July 25th) to get this date changed. He plans on bringing my court papers and court papers from Canada showing pick up and drop off dates of the children. I hope this will be acceptable.

ALSO, has anyone out their received an interview letter from their local office that states the interview will be videotaped?

05/21/07- AP Approval emails received for the kids! Now waiting for husbands AP approval?!?!?

05/21,22,23,24/07- Touches and stepsons and husbands APs

05/26/07- Husband and stepsons APs ARRIVE!!! (day 54)

06/11/07- EAD- "Card Production Ordered"!!! (day 70)

06/18/07- EAD- "Approval Notice Sent"!!! (Day 77)

06/20/07- EAD- Card arrives in mail!!! (Day 79)

06/27/07- Interview date (Interview WAS cancelled!) (Day 86)

07/12/07- New interview letters received for 08/09/2007 (kids wont be home until 08/17/07!!!)

If I remember rightly they make mention of the videotaping as standard in every interview letter so I don't think yours is anything out of the ordinary.

17 February 2004 Sent I-129F petition CSC - It was APPROVED in 147 days

3 September 2004 INTERVIEW IN LONDON SUCCESSFUL VISA APPROVED! MARRIED OCTOBER 16, 2004

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS - 5 MONTHS

4 January 2005 - Submitted applications for AOS and EAD - 12 May 2005 Conditional Permanent Residency Approved - interview in Santa Ana

4 June 2005 CPR 2-year Green Card arrives in mail

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS - 3½ MONTHS

8 May 2007 - I-751 sent to CSC - 23 August 2007 - Approved - Card production ordered

30 August 2007 - 10 year Green Card received

K2 TIMELINE (Stayed behind in UK to finish school)

28 March 2005 - embassy interview & medical London - visa granted

01/18/06 Applications for AOS/EAD sent - 03/28/06 EAD approved

4/3/06 - RFE for AOS - requested new medical and vacc supplement

4/26/06 - approved without interview and welcome letter sent

05/02/2006 - Greencard arrives in mail

03/14/08 - Petition to Remove Conditions mailed to CSC delivered - 7/2/08 APPROVED

NATURALIZATION TIMELINE (for myself and son) 5 MONTHS

April 18, 2011 - N-400 Applications Mailed to AZ lockbox

April 21 (received April 25) NOAs

May 12 - FP Letters mailed

May 16 - Received FP appointment letters for June 8 at 11am

August 1 - Interview - approved for Oath Ceremony - OATH CEREMONY 28 SEPTEMBER

If I remember rightly they make mention of the videotaping as standard in every interview letter so I don't think yours is anything out of the ordinary.

I know that the original interview letter says "We may record or videotape your interview."

Our letter says "THIS INTERVIEW WILL BE VIDEOTAPED".

We have nothing to hide but I still hope that "will" means "may" in our case! Who needs any more stress during an interview!

Well, I don't think you can/should really make a stink about the videotaping thing.. They might be like, "do you have soemthing to hide?"

good luck!

I know, I know. My husband will probably ask about it but wont get bent out of shape. If I know him, he'll probably ask if we need makeup to hide the glare or something goofy like that! :jest:

Maybe it's just standard that they include that line in all of the letters.

I don't think you will have any problems changing the interview date to suit your time frame, especially if you take the legal documents, etc. to the InfoPass appointment to prove why you need the interview date changed.

I don't know about the videotaping thing, but it sure sounds like you are handling the situation in the best possible way.
