Wow years but maybe I can remember this.

1.) Yes you can even stand right there beside her but you will be instructed not to answer questions.  They know you are both nervous and will try to calm you down some. Anyways; The answers have to come from the filipina so be sure to explain that to her so she is not looking at you expecting you to answer stuff which she still will do. So be sure to point your finger at the guy asking questions and eventually she will smile and catch on.  He will just laugh as if he sees it every day.

2.) The US government is a great customer for the delivery service it will be prompt.  I mean you should expect at least equal to jollibee or mcdo.

3.) Absolutely and I did the same.

3a.) Good Thing I did too.  I remember her walking right past the Philippine Immigration guy after I handed him my passport.  She kept right on walking like she was getting on the plane right now, and he didn't notice one bit.  She got pretty far too before wondering where I was at turning her head around as I was standing there not moving just waiting, waving, using my eyes hey back here while he checked all the entries in my passport.  I just barely made it without having to get the silly six month exit clearance stamp and paying that extra immigration fee.  He was upset too when he seen her walking back.  Of course he said nothing but his face WOW!

Thanks for the info. One of the reasons I also want to travel with her is to make sure we have everything so she isn't 'off-loaded'....

There is so much to think of, on top of the US requirements, there is also the Philippine CFO. The ask from the CFO counselor was HUGE.. but they don't want more than 30 pages...:D

One last note... Being of Italian decent, jollibee spaghetti <- I'll just leave that here....

Thank you so much.  It is really appreciated.

As of October 2021 there was strictly no petitioners allowed to attend interviews due to chinese rona virus.  They were strictly enforcing interviewees only inside the embassy at that time.   Now????  who knows??? But I have not seen an account of that policy being relaxed.  Visa delivery took like 3 or 4 days after the interview.  It was quick for us.

Good to know. I will be there regardless.

I think it will help her nerves and I would be out of my mind waiting to hear something.
It sounds like once you are approved, we would be able to fly back fairly quickly (within two weeks) so that is another plus!!

Thanks for the reply.. Very much appreciated!

The CFO stamp in the passport experience if you have not so been advised as of yet is a non foreigner experience.

I remember entering the place to try and help my filipina only to be met with a stern sir you cannot be here leave now.

Plan to find yourself something to do.  I hung out around the outside of the place.  But i quickly tired of all the men there outside wanting to you know help me by hailing a cab every few minutes.

I just walked around a while and ate at a few places ultimately ending up back outside in front of the builiding.  Eventually the guys gave up on the whole i will get a tip/fee getting this foreigner a ride.

Someone telling me to plan part of my day doing something i mean anything else would have been really great.

Wow... really? (Rhetorical)

I'm glad you said something. One thing my Filipina advised me on was how being 'direct' is not a desired trait in the PH.

I had several beggars come up on me outside of a mall, and I put my hand out in the 'halt' fashion.

Needless to say, they did stop, but had a very unexpected look on their face - this was also in last December and in two months I only counted nine non-Filipinos :)

Being taller and white, I stood out in a crowd...

I will take your advice when she goes for the CFO. One of the many steps we need. Thank you so much!!

CFO is online only. Based upon our recent experience, you must have visa on hand before they will do the counseling.

Not surprised with covid.  But your reply is not real clear to me.  Are you saying the CFO Class/Counseling is done online via something like skype now or do they still need to physically go to the building in person?

CFO counseling is now done via phone or skype call.  No more in-person seminar.
