Hello VJ members, just a quick question regarding the current interview wait times, I am the petitioner for my mother and on Oct 27 we received an email that said "we received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy" and that they would work with our selected embassy to schedule an appointment.

So, I don't know... it's been over 3 months and still nothing, just wanted to make sure it is normal. Should I contact them and ask them if everything's ok with my mother's case?

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Well i think it depends on individual Embassy. My Twin's brother got his documents approved in November from NVC and got his interview appointment in December in Taiwan (Taipei) and his visa was granted and travelled this last Monday to New Jersey, However i got my documents approved here in London in January 2022 and nothing yet from NVC or US Embassy in London. we're both in FB1 (unmarried sons of USC). So i think its down to your local embassy. It can be frustrating but just try and get busy with other stuff.. it would definitely come when time is right i believe.

Good luck guys...

Recommend you read  the U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Mexico website = https://mx.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas-information/, and the specific website for the U.S. Consulate General Cuidad Juarez Mexico = https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CDJ-Ciudad-Juarez.html.  Read the information pertaining to scheduling an approved immigrant visa appointment date/time. Buen suerte siempre!

Hi, thanks! But wait, does that mean I can schedule my own appointment? Shouldn't I wait to be contacted by the NVC?

I also was considering to contact them and ask for an update for... I don't know if that's recommendable.

Which agency emailed you on October 27, 2021, USCIS NVC or the U.S. Consulate General Cuidad Juarez, Mexico?  If it was not from Cuidad Juarez, you will have to await their email notifiction that your Mother is eligable to schedule an appointment for her interview.  Likewise, you are always free to call the Cuidad Juarez Consulate Immigration Visa Section for further clarification or assistance asking what the projected current wait times are for their notifying you of your Mother's eligiablity to schedule an interview appointment. Buen suerte!
