Has your wife been filling out US tax returns while she's been in Canada?  I'd also be asking family if they could cosponsor in case the asset based I-864 isn't deemed sufficient.

I'd work on getting a lease agreement as @sarrobo had done drafted up.  It shows you have somewhere to go.  Since you do have kids, you could potentially include the communication with the schools where they will attend that shows you're in the process of making arrangements for the transition.

Also, just an aside here, but get US based credit cards from TD before you go.  If your wife hasn't had much in the way of credit in the US in her absence, it will be tough.  You can qualify based on Canadian credit and attach the socials to it to really start building some credit.

@CalCowBoy, what ended up happening at your interview?

@Ksamwise20, the CO asked for the joint sponsor as I prepared AOS based on our financial assets in Canada. He didn't ask anything regarding the domicile issue. I just submitted my joint sponsor form.

I submitted my joint sponsor's Affidavit of Support form with IRS tax transcripts and related docs on April 14, 2022. I also emailed (Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov) to notify the Montreal Embassy about my submitted docs. They just acknowledged the email and documents received today (April 26, 2022).

I don't know how long they will take to process!!!

I got my visa issued yesterday (CEAC portal and email from donotreply@usvisa-info.com). I also got notification from the courier with a track number. It will arrive on May 17.

Thank you all for your suggestions along the way...

I will write a detailed post once I receive the visa in hands outlining my journey start to finish.. Take care..
