Intent to re-establish domicile to US by the petitioner, Montreal Consulate (merged)

Hello all good people in JV. I have been gobbling tons of information in this forum. 

 

Here is my situation. Wife (petitioner) is a USC living in Canada over 12 years with 2 kids both double citizen. We have now decided to move back to states to be close to families. 

 

Wife is a stay home mom without any income. We don't have any Joint Sponsor for the AOS, thus, took the asset based approach (concern here as well  ). AT the NVC DQ step, NVC mentioned it would be up to the CO to decide if we meet the requirements.  The interview is schedule next month. Now concern about the intent to re-establish domicile to US by the petitioner question. 
After reading the forum I realized that the 'Intent to re-establish domicile to US by the petitioner' is a tough call by the Montreal Consulate. 

 

We are taking the following steps to be successful at the interview.

 

• Registered (today) wife for the online voter registration. 
• Inquiring about leasing an apartment.
• Beneficiary (IT professional) is searching for jobs in the US, had few interviews, .. thinking to print emails of these interviews as evidence. 
• Inquiring about registering kids in school.
• Opened a TD USA bank account (through TD Canada branch) and planning to deposit some US$ into the account.

I am wondering if anyone from Canada with a similar situation like us, went through the interview process and got visa approved. 

 

Any further insights, suggestions would be highly appreciated...

Sounds like a Hail Mary but the only way you will know is at the interview

Typically, no, this is no where near enough for Montreal,

Is there a reason wife can’t dust off her resume and get a job in the US? Plenty of online jobs these days - good for her to start putting money away for retirement, good for your domicile/immigration.

@milimeloWe have small kids, thus, getting a job is not an option for her at this moment. Thanks for your great suggestion.. Also the interview is next month..

I am wondering if anyone can shed some lights. 

 

What happens if the CO refuses the visa based on "lack of evidence to re-establish domicile to US by the petitioner" who lives abroad with the beneficiary. Does the file stay at the Consulate so that we could provide additional evidence later on or the file goes back to the NVC stage.

 

My interview is scheduled next month at Montreal, CAN.. contemplating different scenarios..

They would keep it at the consulate
