My step daughter went to her interview on January 10th and went for her medical exams on January 20th. When I checked her case status yesterday, February 07, 2022, it said Issued. So I'm sure it means approved. How long does the embassy take to send the passport back?

Depends on your country's chosen embassy delivery.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Last year when my fiance went for his k1 visa it was about 2 weeks to get his passport back. I am sure you have it back already by now. Good luck
