Greencard Interview experience with a BUT

You definitely can travel, many have previously done so. If the green card is approved while you’re away, you can have your spouse (or someone at home with access to your mail)  send it to you like I did for my friend 8 years ago.

I know your advance parole gets voided at some point after the green card is approved.  I don’t know if you will be allowed to board the airline back if it shows up in the system as voided unless you are traveling back through an airport that has CBP pre clearance.

Personally I would travel if rescheduling the trip would be a hassle or expensive. It’s your call to make however. Finally your interview was not a Stokes interview although you were interviewed separately and asked the same questions. It was likely because of Covid protocols. Stokes interview are intrusive and occur when there is a suspicion of fraud.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

We went through the same though in our case, our whole file was not there.

It took two weeks for the file to reach the field office plus another two for the case to be approved.

Hopefully yours won't take THAT long.

Seems its going to be the same! One week already!

Just a quick update: I was able to fly back from Spain. It took me 5 minutes for CBP to check my EAD/AP at the secondary inspection. Super say no questions asked.

As for my case status, no change after three weeks.
