Hey everybody. On 12/29/2021 NVC approved my petition. But never heard from them or US consulate in Morocco after that. Is there anyone can please tell me what’s the time frame to schedule an interview in Morocco.

thank you,

it all depends on how many slots the consulate has open and the number of applicants that are ready for interview.

Its been just over a month

your case is in the queue for an interview but there is a long backlog and Moroc just opened the borders on the 7th so all u can do is wait

more important did your USC spouse add u to tax returns for 2018, 2019, and 2020?

she should also do her 2021 tax returns with u as spouse ASAP as your interview will probably happen well after April 18, 2022 and those returns will be needed

and why did the USC wait so long to do the petition from December 2018 to September 2019 as this made our process happen in the 2020 shutdown?

It seems like things might be picking up again with the borders reopened.  We got our interview letter yesterday, February 11, 2022.  We had been approved or Documentarily Qualified at the NVC on January 5 so that's about a 4.5 week time frame.  Good luck to everyone!

It was some circumstances. That’s why we delayed our petition. But I did not claim her in 2018,2019,2020 taxes but I did the amended return and I added her for 2019,2020. And I sent her a copy of the amended. Also we received the interview date as 03/15/2022

can someone please explain what Morocco borders opening has to do with consulate's interview appointments ?

There are Moroccans working in other countries that are scheduled for an interview  at Casa

plus USC that want to be there to give emotional support to spouse or family

along with the Moroccan unable to fly out to the US (even with a visa ) if borders are closed (and a US visa is only good for 6 months from date of medical exam)

plus Morocco has made it difficult (several times) to travel within the country by closing cities along with the border closing

and shutting down bus and train service
