Our window is opening! How are you coming along? How is the baby?

Hello hello!

I'm starting working on my papers this week since the sooner I can file is September 18th (and I plan to do it the following day since 18th is a Sunday).

Baby Mara is doing great. She is four months already and she's a happy and healthy baby! Thanks for asking! It was a really good experience to have her here and we've been busy receiving relatives from Argentina that flew to meet her. We already applied for her passport because we're hoping we can go to Argentina on December. I was reading that once you send out the I-751 you can ask them for a letter that grants the extension of your conditional one for 24 months while they process your application. I hope that's no issue to travel back and forth.

How are you doing? Are you all done to send the papers out?

In terms of evidence, I'm just adding the "new stuff" like newer pictures, our mortgage (we bought a house) and a car together, our medical coverage and bank accounts still together and of course, baby Mara birth's certificate! haha I think she's enough "evidence" that we're together together! LOL we'll see!!

Congrats on the baby first and foremost!

You don’t request a letter. They send you the notice once they receive your ROC submission.

I used that letter+ expired green card+ passport to travel to Argentina. No issues at all.

Hello everybody! Mailed the papers yesterday but they're still on the way.

We'll see how it goes. I can't believe we're going through this again... I will keep everybody updated here in case the experience helps anybody else in the future.

Sorry for not responding earlier.

I was wrapped up with our paperwork.  I am glad you have been able to enjoy those milestones and can have family over from Argentina!

Here we go again!  Ours got delivered today.

I want to make sure I keep this thread alive for the few that will be lagging behind us.

Here are some things we included in our packet that were unusual because we had unusual things happening:

  • We included a letter from my mom stating that we don't have mortgage, lease, utility bills, etc. because there is no mortgage/lease on the house, and utilities are in my dad's name.  She confirmed we live together at the XXX address with my parents because we assist them in their everyday lives because of their age and ailments and she explained that we assist in paying the bills.
  • We had issues with our original bank account and, thus, could not provide them with a lot of bank statements, so we included what we had and then included all of the ones for the new account created earlier in 2022.  We also included a letter explaining the why we were missing statements.
  • Because we knew the abovementioned was "weaker" than the average person, we planned to have wills created and executed.
  • We had very strong evidence regarding health insurance, life insurance, driver's licenses, etc.
  • We also bought a car together so that also helped with financial comingling.

We applied for ROC in January 2021, so we are waiting over a year now.

We just flew back from spending six weeks in Argentina and we miss it so much already! We had no issue re-entering with the extension letter.

Any updates yet?

Good luck to all the Argentinians!

And yes, my husband had a ROC interview in July (yes, he also had one for AOS after he adjusted from the K1). We have no idea why he had to go twice. They barely asked us anything and he was approved by the time we drove home. He received his 10 yr green card in the mail late July. We traveled multiple time with the extension letter and my husband switched jobs with his extension letter in hand as well. No issues anywhere.

Congratulations!  Is there anything about your case that would have prompted that?  Like age difference or too short of a relationship?  How much evidence did you send for ROC?

Nope. Nothing abnormal. I'm active on Visajourney so I was well prepared with what to send. It's happened to several people here on VJ and most of us think it's just randomized. We were also immediately approved for AOS without really any questions.

For reference, we are the same age, I lived with him in his country before he moved here to the US, we've known each other for 10 years, we both speak the same language, and we make in the six figures so way over the poverty line.  They barely asked us anything at the ROC interview, so who knows....I think it was just random selection.

The only reason I can think of, especially with the rule they released in April, is that the original officer that approved you at AOS was eventually fired and his/her judgment was questioned.  Thus, resulting in a second interview.

Good morning everyone!!! *yawning* I was assigned to LIN back in February of this year. Seeing no movement until March, I filed a motion for a missing notice. That seemed to kick my biometrics, for which they used my old ones. I’m at “fingerprints were applied to your case” since March 28. Radio silence after.

Another petitioner got assigned to LIN and was approved in 22 days!!!! But they are from Ukraine, so maybe USCIS has an unspoken rule to prioritize nationalities based on war/ natural disasters? Idk.

Hey everybody! Nice to see some updates here.

For our case, we mailed everything on Sept 20th. It reached the USCIS Phoenix office on the 23rd and I got the notice that our case was received today (27th).

Also we got our tickets to Argentina today, so we're visiting family in December! Happy but also kind of anxious about traveling with the letter (that of course, I haven't received yet)

Evidence we included:

  • Bank Statements. Check and Savings. Just last month.
  • Life insurance and medical coverage
  • Our daughter's birth certificate
  • Mortgage evidence
  • Other loan evidence
  • Car lease (under both our names)
  • Pictures

I included a copy of my current green card (as requested) but I did not add any driver's license or passport or anything like that.

I will keep this thread posted with our timeline and updates.

Thanks everybody!

I traveled with the extension letter this July, plus the expired green card. No issues at all. I also took the marriage certificate just in case, but they never asked for it.

I didn't. Basically, everything that I have already submitted, I did not submit again. Only "new" evidence.

Here's my timeline so far:

-Sent: Sept 20th

-Received notification that my case was received: Sept 27th

-Fingerprints added to my case: Oct 5th

Now I'm just waiting on the notification letter so I can use in December. @Fe.Ta did you receive your already?
