Hi!
My husband and I are waiting for NOA2, we applied for our CR1 in October. We have so many questions and want help.

does anyone have a lawyer they recommend? Maybe you’ve used one before that was helpful? We’d want to have a consultation and most likely wouldn’t hire one for the full process just to get clarity.

thanks!

October is just 3 months back. I would suggest you wait. There is nothing a lawyer will do other than bill you. He cannot force NOA2.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Run of the mill stuff there is not a lot to ask that can not be read here, if you have specific complicated issue then lawyers do specialize

Hacking does regular You Tube shows where you can call in and ask him

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Why do you think you need a lawyer?  For straightforward cases, they are usually unnecessary.  They don't have any special access to anything that you don't, and they cannot speed up the process or anything.  Most of us here have done our own processes as DIY just using this site.

Careful, otherwise you might be accused of violating TOS for “advising against getting legal counsel” 🤔😉

LOL.  Well, that would be the least egregious reason I'd been banned 😉

If you have general questions, you might also want to reach to your local immigration assistance program.  Great place to learn about local resources and programs also.  Back in the day, a local bank here was even giving $250 just for being a new comer :)
