Filing the I-130 for my child + Steps needed to get them the US passport

I am currently residing outside the US, and I am a US citizen (born there) and I am filing for my son who is 1 year old the I-130 form.

I have few questions pls:

1. I am submitting his birth certificate, anything else I should file as well for him: like a photo/picture passport, a copy of his passport, etc.?
2. I am translating his birth certificate, any details I should be mindful off?
   1. Should the translator list their name and contact info?
   2. In the I-130 instructions, they mention: the translator must sign a certification that the English language translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English. So would they need to add that in a statement?
3. I am submitting a copy of my US passport (born in the US):
   1. Do I also need to submit pictures of myself in addition to that?
   2. Do I need to submit my birth certificate even if I was born in the US?
4. After submitting the file online, what are the next steps and how long each step would take before receiving the approval?
5. After I get the approval and I take him to the US, what would the steps be to get him the passport once I move to the US?
6. And do you know how long would each of the steps take?
7. I am not filing for my spouse just yet, as I want to ensure my child gets the approval, I settle and find a job then I would apply for him. Do you know if that is okay or it would be better to file for them together?

Hi,

 

Do you know about CRBA?  If you lived in the US for at least 5 years, with 2 of those years after age 14, then your son is a USC and you would need to fill out form DS-2029 and submit it to the US embassy/consulate.

 

If not, then:

 

1.  If you are his mother, nothing more.

2.  You will literally type "I certify that the English language translation is complete and accurate, and that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English" and sign it. 

3.  Unexpired US passport or BC.  Pick one.

4.  You will get a notice of receipt, NOA1.  Then about a year+ for the I-130 approval.  Then about 6-12 months to get to the interview.  Steps are USCIS-NVC-Interview:  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition.html

 

5.  Not sure.  I defer to others to answer.

6.  Already asked in Question 4?  If asking about passport for your son, I will need to defer to others.

7.  It is very odd to not file for your spouse at the same time.  Does the laws of your current country allow you to take your child to the US without the father's permission?  It will not raise red flags for your child, but it may raise red flags for your spouse when you petition for him.

Hi - thank you. I do know about the CRBA but it is not applicable to me unfortunately. 

• For #1: so no pictures needed! I heard many contradicting instructions, some specify at the beginning of the form to add 2x2 pictures but when I get to the online filing, only my son birth certificate needed and my passport/BC. 
• for #2: you mean the translator should type this or where do I need to add this sentence when filing online or on the document translated by the translator? 
• For #7: his father can give permission when taking him from my country to the US, I wouldn't be able to fly without that permission anyway. But for the US gov, is this a problem you think? 

Awaiting for others to let me know about #5-6 and 7 if they encountered same situation...

Did you translate your documents or a friend? Or you actually need to pay a certified translator to do this.

I just need to translate a birth certificate, marriage certificate and divorce decree. I did it for my husband and we are  getting ready to submitt i130 online for his son. Also does it has to be notorized?
