Yes. Look at the London Embassy thread and you can see how long other users waited for their interview.

I wont stake my life on this BUT...............when i and a few others from VJ were waiting for interview at London, we all put on our DS-156(is this the form i mean?) anyway the form that asks what date you will be traveling, and we all noticed that to put a date in this space realy makes a difference as to when & how quickly you get an interview date!!

Yeah, many have done the putting down a date, insisting you have a set wedding thing, and I don't know how much that really helps. As you can see we waited about 6 1/2 weeks from the time we sent in Packet 3 to our actual interview date. It took them a little over four weeks to issue us our date from the time we sent in Packet 3, so their estimates may be a little high but are still in the ballpark. We did the tactic of emailing them a lot and telling them we had a set wedding date, dunno how much it helped, maybe a little but not a whole lot!

Sorry did you say 4 to 6? I was getting depressed after reading like almost ayear on the timelines section. Is that out of date?

I sent my DS230 to my wife and it got lost it seems so the other day i sent it again. I think the whole error has put us a month behind but i wonder how long from sending that of fi can expect to get an interview?

Any ideas?

Also is it right to think the visa should be days after the interview rather than weeks or months?

Since I am completely unfamiliar with CR1 processes I can only speak from K1 experience, but as far as the visa arriving after approval at the Embassy I will venture to say I think that it should arrive a few days (2-5 or so) after the sucessful interview for CR1 just like for K1. I think that it arriving a few days after approval is pretty general for London. As far as interviews go I would also think there would be a similar time frame for this but I'm a little more unsure on this. Have you had a look on the London Embassy thread and looked at the stats listed on there for other CR1's through London? There aren't many but there are a couple so that might be helpful for upto date info.

What James and Miranda said LOL

Every case is different.. from K1, K3 to CR1.. and you never know if your file will be delayed for inaccurate or missing information.. In our case we were sent a request for additional information because the CIS needed my stepson's birth certificate. That delayed us about a month. So you just never know.

Also, I am not sure where you got the 4-6 from but there are a bunch of differnt "counts" that people do:

There are day counts from the time the case ARRIVES at the NVC and a case number is issued until the interview is scheduled... counts from when case LEAVES the NVC to the embassy... etc...

Your best bet is what everyone else said... check out the threads for London and check the lists.. they are good "guestimates"

Thanks Cari............was referring to the time from when the Packet 3 is returned. I don't see alot of K3's on that thread. You are right, I know it's different for every case..........NOA2 is taking long enough for a process that's supposed to be faster than K1. I just wanted to try (that's laughable) and put a rough marker on when this nightmare will be over.

I feel Good...........like the moon is shining just for me!

Sorry I can't help with that... Our K-3 was dropped cuz the I-130 got approved first... So please pass go and forego the Packet 3 and go straight to the Interview for us LOL... But do check out the threads.. there are few people with K3 on there..

It's my understanding that in general K1 is the fastest route to a visa, have you heard K3 is faster?

James and/or Miranda.. the K1 is only for a fiance visa. If you are already married you have to go the K3 or CR1 route... We file for both and go with the one that is faster which tends to be the CR-1

Yeah I know the K1 is only for non-married couples but RMHurd said "NOA2 is taking long enough for a process that's supposed to be faster than K1" and I took this as meaning he thought pursuing at K3 visa would be faster than a K1 and I was just trying to see if I had read his post correctly. I know he can't do a K1 now but if he did a K3 thinking it was the fastest visa unforunately he was mistaken!

All that being said, for some reason the K-3's, CR-1s and IR-1s seem to be a bit slower in London than the K-1s. I've read the occasional grumbling on here about the married couples getting 'punished'.

CR-1 and IR-1 make sense to take a bit longer as there are more steps involved and the granted visa has more 'perks' once you are stateside. I've never understood the delay with the K-3's other than the multiple entry benefit, which maybe causes a bit more processing - I don't know.

London is still a pretty quick consulate though. I can't imagine the process taking a year.
