My advice would be to try for the B-2 and see. It's not that expensive and doesn't take that long. Build the best 'ties the UK' case you can and see what happens.  Being married to an American may work against you. If that doesn't work,  do the spousal. She can visit you during that process.  Assuming you're approved you can come over and it won't be long before you have a green card. Good for 10 years if married over 2. With that you can travel back and forth as long as you aren't out of the US too long or too much. If you need to be in the UK too much you can go to the embassy and give up the GC. The next time you want to come over you should be nearly 100% approved for a B-2.
