I have read the guides on the items that must be submitted along with I-864 "if you are petitioning sponsor and on active duty in the US Armed Forces and is sponsoring your spouse...proof of your active military status". My fiance's an active US military, but he needs to also submit 1040...right? or what other income tax form does he need to submit?

thank you.

1040/W2 or better yet get tax transcripts, they are free from the IRS, http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

The proof of active military status, allows the poverty line requirement to be lowered from 125%, to only 100%.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Go to the personell department and ask for a "statement of service" letter. This document will prove he is in the military along with what pay, benefits, and time he has left before his enlistment is out. Have him get this along with his past 6 months LES forms and tax forms as well. Im in the military and currently doing this process as well. Wish you luck!
