Hey! So these are the steps I completed for my embassy!

1. Start and submit DS-160 (if anything changes before interview you can always start and submit a new form)

2. Booked medical for like 3 weeks in advance

3. Booked and paid for interview (at first it wouldn't let me create an applicant but after a few days it finally let me in)

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/users/sign_in

In order to register and add an applicant you need to select ''I have received a letter/email from the consular section with instructions to register or schedule a K (Fiancé(e)/Spouse/Child) visa appointment''

I was told we don't need to wait for anything from the London Embassy so we can go ahead and book everything once it's 'ready' but I did it all during 'in transit' just in case they got fully booked (you can always reschedule medical and interview). It took roughly under 2 weeks for the ready status once I saw DHL delivered my package.

Hey! Thanks a lot for your input.

So far we’ve booked a medical 5 weeks in advance and we have now received the NVC letter, so we’re all set for that. Just need to get some new pictures for the DS-160 and it is ready to be submitted. I think next week or the following we’ll be able to book an interview date.

Pretty much all documents are finalised for the interview in London! Are you taking anything additional from the list that the embassy has?

Getting closer!

Thanks for the info! My consulate is in Bucharest and our package is still In Transit. I tried to schedule an appointment but they asked me the same question, if I have received the instructions, which I did not yet. Is there a problem if I select “yes”, even if I didn’t receive the instructions? From what I read, the embassy will have to send me something.

Yeah that's good, I wanted to wait to book my interview but I panicked and thought what if something happens again (another pandemic haha) so I just bit the bullet and went ahead with everything! But it seems so real now that things move so fast at this stage.

Honestly no, I'm only taking documents that they're requiring, also fresh letters of intent just in case even though our approval won't expire but to be on the safe side!

I heard the London Embassy is extremely easy so I'm trying not to overthink hehe

We're all going to be fine :)!

Hey, I'm not sure about your consulate because every embassy has different ways of doing things! But for my embassy we don't need to wait for them to contact us.

I went ahead and selected yes to that question in hopes that my embassy would be ready by the time my interview came around!

Honestly, if you read that your embassy will have to send you something then I'd just wait to be on the safe side.

Honestly that’s what I was thinking too, I just want to be safe and not cause any problems now at the end. But I feel like I’m losing precious time, ughh such a hard decision :)).

Also good luck on your interview, I’ve heard they are all pretty easy so don’t stress too much about it! ☺️

that's very nice to know, because my journey is in the first stages..  so I'm just taking it one day at a time, and visiting my fiancé as much as possible.. I just return from a trip from Ghana last week, and planning another trip in Oct or Nov this year. So i'm remaining busy, and just studying and getting some things in order.

Haha you are right though, we've waited for over a year! What's a few more weeks of doing it the correct way right? That's what I was thinking but then one thing led to another and before you knew it, interview was booked loool!! But again I also knew that we didn't have to wait for any documents from London!

Thank you! I'll let everyone know how my medical and interview goes so if I make any mistakes then the next person won't :)

Ahh I remember my first stages, the constant checking and refreshing of my case tracker app lol surprised my thumb didn't fall off!

I read so many posts, literally invested my life on visajourney! But it's all worth it in the end :)

Goodluck!

I understand you fully.. at this point i don't check my status everyday.. maybe twice a week, that's it. my motto is no news is good news, and from i been told by from people is that i put together my package very nice. I even got some letters notarized, so I'm kinds cool at this point. but i have this thought i been thinking about maybe you might know that answer. I wonder sometimes do uscis check that status of people traveling to see their fiancé ?  what i mean is that, do they check with customs and check and see if their passport have been used ?
